국문 초록

이 논문은 한국 근현대사에 관한 역사 서사의 세 가지 유형을 보수적 민족주의, 비판적 민족주의, 자본주의의 성취 유형으로 정리하고, 이 서사 유형 간의 갈등과 변화의 양상을 추적하며 그 양상에서 나타나는 문제점을 지적한다. 이 역사 서사들은 한국 사회의 보수 진영과 리버럴 진영 간의 상호 대립의 근거로 꽤 깊이 활용되어 상당히 강한 상호 대립의 양상을 보이지만, 그 상호 대립은 오히려 대한민국 국가의 성과로 인식되는 산업화와 민주화 모두를 자기 진영의 성과로 독점하고 싶은 양 진영의 공유된 욕망을 드러낸다. 역사 서사들의 상호 대립의 근저에 대한민국 국가의 성과를 독점하고 싶은 욕망이 깔려 있기 때문에 이에 대한 신학적 성찰은 대한민국이라는 국가 자체를 그 대상으로 삼아야 한다. 이때 대한민국은 건국 과정에서의 폭력이라는 원죄 위에 성립하며 그 원죄 위에서 폭력을 재생산하고 있다는 통찰이 가능하다. 또한 대한민국 국가의 성과를 독점하려는욕망은 그 폭력에 대한 은폐가 작동하고 있다는 징후가 된다. 이 폭력과 은폐에 대한 대항의 자리에서 가능한 서사를 지시하는 용어로 민중신학의 민중사회전기 용어를 사용할 수 있으며 그 구체적인 예로 장애운동에서 생산되는 장애사회전기를 꼽을 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper categorizes three types of historical narratives of Korea’s modern national history as conservative nationalism, critical nationalism, and capitalist achievement, traces the patterns of conflict and change among these narratives, and points out the problems with these patterns. These historical narratives have been used as a basis for strong mutual confrontation between the conservative and liberal blocs of Korean society, but the mutual confrontation reveals the shared desire of both blocs to monopolize both industrialization and democratization, which are perceived as the achievements of the Korean state, as their own. Since the desire to monopolize the achievements of the Korean state lies at the root of the confrontation between these historical narratives, theological reflection on this must take the Korean state itself as its object. In this case, we can see that the Republic of Korea was established on the original sin of violence in the founding process and is reproducing violence on top of that original sin. The desire to monopolize the achievements of the Korean state is also a sign that a cover-up of that violence is at work. In the place of opposition to this violence and concealment, we can use the term Korean Minjung theology’s Minjung social biography as a term to indicate a possible narrative, and a specific example is the social biography of disability produced by the disability movement.
