국문 초록

본 연구는 공공기관인 국립수목원 산하 전문박물관인 산림박물관의 설립 목적, 역할, 그리고 운영 현황을 심층적으로분석하고, 이를 토대로 향후 발전 방향을 모색하는 것을 목표로 한다. 특히, 산림박물관은 산림문화자산에 관한 전문적인연구를 수행하고, 그 결과를 대중과 공유하며, 학문적 연구와 일반 대중을 연결하는 중요한 징검다리 역활을 수행해 왔다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 산림박물관의 역할에 주목하여, 최근 기획전시인 <식물, 문화를 만들다> 시리즈를 주요 분석대상으로 선정하였다. 이 시리즈는 식물에 관한 전문적인 연구 결과를 우리 문화라는 관점에서 재해석하여 관람객이더 쉽고 친근하게 접근할 수 있도록 기획된 전시·교육 콘텐츠의 대표적인 사례이다. 따라서 본 연구는 <식물, 문화를만들다> 시리즈 전시 사례를 심층적으로 분석함으로써, 전문성과 대중성을 효과적으로 융합할 수 있는 전문박물관의기획 및 운영 전략을 구체적으로 논의하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 본 연구에서는 전시 기획 의도, 콘텐츠 구성 등 다양한측면에서 분석을 진행하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 국립수목원 산림박물관이 공공기관 전문박물관으로서 지속 가능한 발전을 이루기 위한 구체적인 과제와 방향성을 제시할 것이다. 본 연구는 전문성과 대중성의 조화를 추구하는 박물관 운영모델을 제시함으로써, 유사한 성격의 공공기관 전문박물관에 실질적인 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze in-depth the establishment purpose, role, and operation status of the National Arboretum Forest Museum, a specialized museum under the National Forestry Service, a public institution, and to explore future development directions based on these findings. In particular, Forest Museum has played an important role in conducting specialized research on forest cultural assets, sharing the results with the public, and serving as an important link between academic research and the general public. This study focuses on the role of National Arboretum Forest Museum and selects the recent exhibition series “Plants, Creating Culture” as the main object of analysis. This series is a representative example of exhibition and educational content designed to make the results of specialized research on plants more accessible and friendly to visitors by reinterpreting them in terms of our culture. Therefore, by analyzing the exhibition case of the series in depth, this study aims to discuss the planning and operation strategies of specialized museums that can effectively converge expertise and popularity. To this end, this study will analyze various aspects such as exhibition planning intentions and content organization, and based on the results, suggest specific tasks and directions for the National Arboretum Forest Museum to achieve sustainable development as a public specialized museum. This study is expected to provide practical implications for public specialized museums of similar nature by presenting a museum management model that seeks to harmonize professionalism and popularity.
