한국 공연예술의 국제문화교류 전략 제언: 해외 관람객의 관람 경험에 대한 근거이론 적용

국문 초록

본 연구는 해외 외국인 관람객의 한국 공연 작품의 선택 및 관람 경험을 분석하여 국제문화교류를 추진하는 국내 예술단체가 활용 가능한 전략을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 한국 공연 관람 경험이 있는 외국인 8인의 관람 경험을 근거이론 방법론을 적용하여 분석하였다. 개방코딩 결과 9개의 상위범주와 18개의 하위범주가 도출되었으며, 이를 패러다임모형에 따라 코딩하여 ‘동기부여를 통한 한국 공연 선택하기’. ‘현지 명성을 활용한 한국 공연 선택하기’, ‘부대 서비스를통한 한국 공연 이해하기’, ‘사회·문화·정보자본을 활용한 한국 공연 관람하기’라는 네 가지 핵심범주를 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 국내 공연예술 단체 및 기관이 국제문화교류 추진 시 적용할 수 있는 실무적 전략을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop a strategy that Korean performing art organizations can utilize to promote international cultural exchange by analyzing the watching experiences of foreign audiences attending Korean performances. To achieve this, the experiences of eight foreign individuals who have attended Korean performances were examined using grounded theory methodology. Through open coding, nine primary categories and eighteen subcategories were identified. By applying the paradigm model, four key categories emerged: ‘selecting Korean performances through motivation’, ‘selecting Korean performances based on local reputation,’ ‘understanding Korean performances through supplementary services,’ and ‘attending Korean performances by leveraging social, cultural, and informational capital.’ Based on these findings, a practical strategy was proposed for korean performing arts organizations to enhance their efforts in promoting international cultural exchanges.
