청소년의 디지털 성범죄 단발성 피해와 반복피해의 영향요인 : 기회이론을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 기회이론을 바탕으로 청소년 디지털 성범죄의 단발성 및 반복피해에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하고, 이론의 적용 가능성을 검토하였다. 연구는 한국청소년정책연구원의 ‘2021년 아동·청소년 대상 디지털 성범죄 현황 및 대응방안 연구’에서 수집된 남녀 중고등학생 2,837명의 설문자료를 활용하였다. 기회이론에 기반하여 범죄피해에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 노출, 근접성, 유인성, 보호인 변수를 설정하고, 피해 유형에 따라 무피해, 단발성 피해, 반복피해의 세 집단으로 구분한 뒤 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 무피해 집단을 기준으로 단발성 피해집단은 유인성(오프라인 만남)에서만 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 반복피해 집단의 경우 성별, 학교유형, 노출(익명계정 사용), 근접성(1:1대화 경험), 유인성(오프라인 만남), 보호인(부모지지) 등 단발성 피해집단보다 다양한 변수가 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 추가적으로, 단발성 피해와 반복피해 집단 간 비교에서는 부모지지가 반복피해 가능성을 낮추는 요인으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 디지털 성범죄 피해를 예방하기 위한 실효성 있는 전략과 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study examines the factors influencing single and repeated victimization in adolescent digital sexual crimes through the framework of Opportunity Theory, evaluating its applicability in digital environments. Using survey data from 2,837 middle and high school students collected as part of the 2021 study, Status and Countermeasures for Digital Sexual Crimes Targeting Children and Adolescents, conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute, key variables such as exposure, proximity, attractiveness, and guardianship were identified. Respondents were categorized into three groups: non-victimization, single victimization, and repeated victimization. Multinomial logistic regression analysis was conducted to explore the relationships among these variables across the three groups. The findings reveal that the single-victimization group, compared to the no-victimization group, differed significantly only in attractiveness (offline meetings), suggesting that single victimization may stem from temporary vulnerabilities exploited by offenders. In contrast, the repeated-victimization group was significantly influenced by gender, school type, exposure (anonymous account use), proximity (one-on-one conversations), attractiveness (offline meetings), and guardianship (parental support). Additionally, a comparison between the single and repeated victimization groups indicated that parental support was associated with a lower likelihood of repeated victimization. This study underscores the importance of adapting Opportunity Theory to account for the unique characteristics of digital environments. It also provides practical strategies and policy recommendations to enhance protective measures for youth against digital sexual crimes.
