중년 여성의 사회적 지지와 음주의 구조적 관계 : 자아존중감과 자기효능감의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 여성의 음주가 증가하고 있는 점에 주목하면서, 발달단계 특성상 음주에 취약한 집단인 중년 여성의 음주를 낮추는 방안을 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 이론적 검토를 통해 음주의 보호요인으로 지목되는 사회적 지지와 자아존중감, 자기효능감의 관계를 파악했을 때, 친구의 사회적 지지와 자기효능감은 음주를 높이는 것을 발견하였다. 이에 온라인으로 수집된 중년 여성 458명을 대상으로 가족과 친구의 사회적 지지와 음주의 관계에서 자아존중감과 자기효능감의 역할을 구조방정식 모형으로 검증하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 가족의 사회적 지지는 음주를 낮추었으나, 친구의 사회적 지지는 음주를 높였다. 둘째, 가족과 친구의 사회적 지지는 자아존중감과 자기효능감에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 자아존중감은 음주를 낮추었지만, 자기효능감은 음주를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 가족의 사회적 지지와 음주의 관계에서 자아존중감은 완전매개하였고, 친구의 사회적 지지와 음주의 관계에서 자아존중감과 자기효능감은 완전매개하였다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 중년 여성의 자아존중감을 높이는 방안을 논의한 후 후속 연구를 위한 과제를 남겼다.

영문 초록

This study examines how to reduce drinking among middle-aged women, a group that is vulnerable to drinking due to their developmental stage, noting that drinking among men is decreasing but increasing among women. We used structural equation modelling to examine the role of self-esteem and self-efficacy in the relationship among social support from family and friends and drinking in a sample of 458 middle-aged women surveyed online. The results showed that, first, family social support decreased drinking, but friend social support increased drinking. second, family and friend social support positively influenced self-esteem and self-efficacy. Third, self-esteem was negatively associated with lower drinking, but self-efficacy was positively associated with higher drinking. Fourth, family social support fully mediated the relationship among self-esteem and drinking, and friend social support fully mediated the relationship among self-esteem and self-efficacy.
