화용적 관점에서 본 한국어 교재의 대화문 분석 연구 - 인접쌍을 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 화용적 관점을 통해 한국어 교재를 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 화용 교육의 양상과 그 지향점을 고찰하는 것이다. 본고는 한국어 교육 현장에서 사용되는 한국어 교재 5종 34권을 분석 대상으로 삼아 대화문에 나타난 인접쌍 양상 및 응답 구조를 살펴보았다. 또한, 분석한 내용을 바탕으로 한국어 교재 대화문의 보완점 및 구성 방향에 대해 논의하였다. 분석을 통해 알게 된 바는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인접쌍의 하위 유형 중 [질문-대답]이 다른 유형에 비해 압도적으로 높게 나타나고 있음을 발견하였다. 둘째, 응답 구조의 분포를 살펴본 결과 선호 구조가 비선호 구조에 비해 압도적으로 높은 비율을 보였다. 셋째, 선행 발화가 감사, 요청, 제안 등일 때 응답 표현이 부재한 경우가 많았다. 넷째, 대화 참여자의 역할 교대나 대화 구조 측면에서 실제성이 결여된 부자연스러운 대화가 다수 발견되었다. 다섯째, 한국의 언어문화적인 특수성과 화행 전략을 반영한 대화문을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구의 분석 결과가 한국어 학습자의 화용 능력을 신장시키기 위한 교수 자료를 개발하는 데 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed Korean textbooks from a pragmatic perspective to identify different aspects and orientations of pragmatic education. We analyzed 34 volumes of Korean textbooks classified into 5 types to explore the patterns of adjacency pairs and response structures in textbook dialogues. Additionally, we discussed the directions and areas of improvement regarding the dialogues and found the following: First, the adjacency pair types occurring in the dialogues mainly consisted of the question-and-answer type; Second, it was determined that the preferred structure appeared more than the dispreferred structure after confirming the realization pattern of the response structure; Third, many cases did not provide responses when the preceding speech involved a show of gratitude, requests, or suggestions; Fourth, several instances of unnatural conversations, lacking authenticity in terms of role alternation of conversation participants and conversation structure, were identified; And fifth, dialogues reflecting linguistic and cultural specificity of Korea, incorporating speech act strategies, were explored. The results are expected to contribute to the development of textbooks to enhance Korean learners’ pragmatic competence.
