몽골인 학습자의 한국문화 인식 조사 연구

국문 초록

본 연구 목적은 한국어 및 한국문화를 배우는 몽골인 학습자를 대상으로 한국문화 인식과 수용을 살피는 데 있다. 몽골에서 배우는 학습자들의 경우 한국 문화 교육을 직접적으로 경험하기에는 어려움이 있으며 한국 문화를 어휘적으로 이해하는 것에 그칠 수 있다. 그래서 문화적 배경을 인식할 수 있는 공간을 의도적으로 만들어야 하며 이문화의 적응·동화 및 문화 충격 완화에 도움이 되는 교육을 해야 한다. 이에 몽골인 학습자의 한국 문화 인식을 알아보기 위해 한국문화에 대한 지식과 경험과 태도와 문화 차이 등이 중요하다고 봐, 본고에서 이들 네 국면을 중심으로 설문조사를 하였다. 본 연구는 울란바토르 2 세종학당 학습자를 대상으로 설문조사를 설계하여 분석한 결과 첫째, 몽골인 학습자의 한국어 학습 환경을 통한 접근이 60%로 높았다. 이것은 몽골에서 문화 학습 환경이 중요한 작용을 하고 있는 것으로 해석된다. 둘째, 몽골인 학습자의 한국문화 지식이 52.2%-90.4%로 상당히 높게 나타났는데 그동안 한국문화에 대한 공감대가 많이 형성된 것으로 보인다. 셋째, 한국 문화 경험이 52.6%-86.2%로 높게 나타났는데 현지에서 한국 문화 경험을 하는 것이 한국 문화의 지식과 태도를 높이는 데에 기여한다고 할 수 있다. 넷째, 몽골인 학습자들의 한국문화에 대한 태도가 62.2%-91.6%로 긍정적이었다. 다섯째, 한국문화에서 응답자들의 63.8%-80% 이상이 문화 차이를 느끼고 있으며, 66% 이상이 문화 거리감을 어느 정도 느끼고 있었다. 이는 응답자들이 문화 차이로 인한 거리감을 느끼고 있으나 문화 충격을 회복하려고 노력하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to determine the degree of Korean cultural cognition in Mongolian learners studying the Korean language and culture. Korean language learners in Mongolia face the issue of being unable to directly become acquainted with Korean culture. Therefore, there is a need to organise training that creates a cultural learning classroom environment and decreases culture shock to support Korean cultural cognition. Within the framework of the research, the learners’ knowledge, and attitude towards Korean culture, cultural experiences, obstacles caused by Korean and Mongolian cultural differences, and overcoming of these obstacles were identified. In doing so, this study defined the Korean cultural cognition of the Mongolian learners. Specifically, its predominant finding was based on a survey conducted among the learners at Ulaanbaatar 2 Sejong Institute. First, teaching institutions, movies, and dramas play a primary role in learning Korean. Second, the knowledge of the Mongolian learners of Korean culture was reasonably high, at 52.2%-90.4%. Third, 52.6%-86.2% of the learners have some Korean cultural experience. Fourth, the cultural attitude of the learners towards Korean culture was 62.2%-91.6% positive. Last, 62.2%-91.6% of the learners reported a certain cultural difference between Korean and Mongolian cultures. 66% of the learners admitted that they had faced some obstacles caused by cultural differences. However, they emphasised that they are learning to overcome such obstacles.
