국문 초록

2004년 고용허가제 시행 이후 매년 10만 명 이상의 외국인 근로자가 국내에 입국한다. 그러나 입국 후 이들은 불규칙적인 근무 시간과 지리적인 위치의 한계로 인하여 한국어를 학습하는 데 어려움을 겪는다. 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 프로그램이 유학생, 결혼이주민을 위한 프로그램보다 상대적으로 부족한 것도 한국어 학습의 방해 요인이 된다. 본 연구는 한국에 입국한 태국인 근로자를 대상으로 단기 한국어 프로그램을 개발 및 앱 설계를 위한 요구 분석을 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 세 가지 요구 분석을 실시하였다. 첫째, 외국인 근로자를 대상으로 한 교재 ‘한국어표준교재1, 2’를 비교 분석하였다. 둘째, 기존 EPS-TOPIK 학습용 앱을 분석하였다. 셋째, 기존 교재와 앱 분석 결과를 바탕으로 실제 한국에 입국한 태국인 근로자 대상 설문조사를 시행하여 한국어 교육과정에 대한 이들의 요구를 살펴보았다. 이후 분석 결과를 토대로 태국인 근로자를 위한 교수요목을 설계하고 이를 실제 앱에 적용하도록 교육과정을 개발하는 방안을 모색하였다. 이를 통해 그동안 한국어 교육 현장에서 소외된 외국인 근로자를 위한 프로그램 개발에 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

Since the implementation of the employment permit system in 2004, more than 100,000 immigrant workers have been entering the country every year. However, after entering the country, they have difficulty learning Korean due to irregular working hours and limited geographic mobility. The relative lack of Korean language programs for immigrant workers compared to those for international students and marriage immigrants is also a hindrance to Korean language learning. This study aims to conduct a needs analysis and develop a short-term Korean language program for Thai immigrant workers who have entered Korea. To this end, three needs analysis were performed. First, the existing textbooks for immigrant workers, textbook for EPS-TOPIK was analyzed. Second, the existing EPS-TOPIK learning app was analyzed. Third, based on the results of the analysis of the existing textbooks and apps, we surveyed Thai workers who actually entered Korea to examine their needs for the Korean language curriculum. Based on the results of the analysis, the ministry sought to develop a curriculum to design teaching requirements for Thai immigrant workers and use them in actual applications. In this manner, the government has been trying to provide basic data on the development of programs for immigrant workers who have been alienated from Korean language education sites.
