한국어 추측 표현과 양태 부사의 공기 양상에 대한 계량적 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 추측 표현과 양태 부사의 공기 양상을 대규모 말뭉치로부터 추출하여 계량적 방법으로 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해서 파이선을 활용하여 말뭉치로부터 추측 표현이 포함된 용례를 도출하였다. 이어서 추측 표현과 양태 부사의 공기 빈도 및 기대 빈도를 구하고 이를 바탕으로 구한 t값에 기초하여 공기 여부 및 공기 강도를 고찰하고 비교하였다. 연구 결과, 우선 양태 부사와의 공기 여부에 의한 4개의 추측 표현 간의 확실성 정도의 구분은 불가능함이 확인되었다. 또한 ‘아마’와의 공기 강도에서 나타나는 차이는 이들 표현 간의 주관성의 차이를 드러내고, 양태 부사 ‘분명히’, ‘확실히’와의 공기 관계에서 나타나는 대립 양상은 추측 표현의 추정 유형에서의 차이를 보여 준다. 한편으로 ‘-ㄹ 것 같다’만 ‘확실히’, ‘아마’, ‘어쩌면’ 모두와 공기하는 것은 이 표현의 확실성 정도의 ‘무표성’을 보여 주며, ‘왠지’와의 공기는 ‘-ㄹ 것 같다’가 화자의 직감, 느낌 등에 의한 추측에도 쓰일 수 있다는, 다른 3개의 추측 표현과 구별되는 특성을 반영한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze the co-occurrence between speculative expressions and modal adverbs of Korean using quantitative methods. To this end, Python was used to extract examples containing speculative expressions from a corpus. Then, based on the co-occurrence frequency, expected frequency, and obtained t-score, the co-occurrence aspects were analyzed and contrasted. The results of the study confirmed that it is impossible to distinguish a degree of certainty based on the co-occurrence between speculative expressions and modal adverbs. Furthermore, the variations in co-occurrence strength with “ama” reveal differences in subjectivity between speculative expressions. Furthermore, adversarial aspects in co-occurrences with “bunmyeonghi” and “hwaksilhi” show differences in the type of estimation of the speculative expressions. On the other hand, “-l kes katta” is the only expression that co-occurs with “hwaksilhi,” “ama,” and “eojjeomyeon,” showing that the degree of certainty in this expression is related to unmarkedness. Moreover, the co-occurrence between “-l kes katta” and “weanji” reflects the characteristic of “-l kes katta” in which it can be used for speculation based on the speaker’s intuition and feeling; with this characteristic, “-l kes katta” could be distinct from the three other speculative expressions.
