국문 초록

심원열의 글들 중 기존 통념에 대한 반성을 주제로 한 산문을 살펴보았다. 聖人의 언행을 기록한 經傳의 절대성에 대해 의문을 피력한 글, 작금의 상황에 근거해서 과거 경전을 이해하려는 글, 선험적인 인식에 대해 비판을 가한 글, 현실적 시공간을 중시하려는 태도를 지닌 글 등 이러한 일련의 산문에서 중세 해체기를 살고 간 한 문인의 사고의 일단을 점검해보았다. 심원열의 해체적 사유방식은 기성 통념에 대한 반성을 통해 시작된다. 통념에 대한 회의도 결국 다변적인 19세기 현실에 대처하기 위한 시대의 소산물이었다. 가능한 선입견과 고정관념을 배제하려는 그의 의식도 중세해체기 마지막 세기이자 급변하는 19세기를 그 나름대로 인식하고 해석한 결과라 판단된다.

영문 초록

Among Shim Wonyul's texts I examined proses with doubt and reflection on existing common ideas as a theme. I checked part of the thought of one literary man who had lived in the medieval disorganization period and who had passed away from such a series of proses as a text of questioning the absoluteness of a scripture containing a saint's words and deeds, a text of trying to understand a scripture in connection with its real situation, and a text of taking the attitude of attaching importance to real time and space criticizing a priori cognition. Shim Wonyul's disorganizing way of thinking began with reflections on existing common ideas. Also skepticism about the ideas was a product of the age for coping with the multilateral reality of the 19th century. I judge that his consciousness of excluding possible preconceived and fixed ideas resulted from recognizing and interpreting in his own ways the 19th century changing rapidly which is the last century of the period.
