국문 초록

본 논문에서는 明淸四書典故類著作臆說의 역사적 지위들 중점적으로 다루고 아울러 淸代考證學의 역사적 연원을 고찰하였다. 明 嘉靖年間이래로 四書五經 가운데 名物典制를 종합 변증한 저작들이 대량으로 출현하였으며, 이러한 종류의 저작들은 주로 “典故”로 책명을 삼았다. 이는 宋代 이래의 經義가 발전하여 明代에 “八股時文”을 형성한 대배경하에 등장한 것이다. 바로 이 때문에, 典故類著作에 대한 과거 學術史上의 평가는 지극히 부정적이었다. 그렇지만 이러한 저작의 출현은 본래부터 소홀히 할 수 없는 역사적 작용과 가치를 지니고 있다. 본 논문에서는 經書典故類著作에 양면성이 존재한다고 파악하였다. 이는 곧 한편으로는 俗學에 속하면서, 다른 한편으로는 學術硏究에 보조역할을 할 뿐 아니라 심지어 그 자체가 심각한 학술연구이기도 하다는 점이다. 한편 고증학의 수준제고와 연구의 심화는, 다시 으레 역으로 작용하여 ?園冊子의 질을 높이게 되었다. 그러한 까닭에 經書典故類著作에 대해, 그에 맞는 가치와 지위를 부여해야 한다고 보여진다.

영문 초록

This paper mainly described the historical position of writing of an authentic precedent of the Four Books(四書典故類) in Ming (明) & Ching(淸) Dynasty. at the same time. examining the historical origin of bibliographical study of the Ching Dynasty period. After the Ming Dynasty Jia-jing(嘉靖) annual publication. lots of writings which synthetically demonstrated ming-wu-dian-zhi(名物典制) among the Nine Chinese Classics(四書五經) appeared and such types of writings were mostly named “an authentic precedent(典故)”. Those writings appeared, as meaning of the Confucian classics(經義) had developed since the Sung Dynasty and formed “ba-gu-shi-wen(八股時文)” in the Ming Dynasty period. Just for the reason, the evaluation of a work of an authentic precedent(典故類著作) in the past academic history was very negative. However. the appearance of such writings have the historic effect and value that can not be neglected from the first. This paper described that there existed both faces in the writing of an authentic precedent of the Confucian classics(經書典故類). This implies that the writings on the one hand belong to popular learning and on the other hand not only play a subsidiary role but become an important academic research by itself. In the meantime, raising the level of a bibliographical study and its deepened research always had an adverse effect. increasing the quality of tu-yuan-ce-zi(?園冊子). Therefore, it is considered necessary that suitable value and position be granted to the writing of an authentic precedent of the Confucian classics(經書典故類).
