플라톤의 아틀란티스에 나타난 전제조건과 임의성 연구

국문 초록

유토피아란 용어는 우리가 알아야 할 전제조건과 임의성에 의해 연구되지 않은 부분들이 있다. 유토피아는 플라톤이 언급한 아틀란티스란 지명으로부터 기원했다. 플라톤은 이상적인 세계인 아틀란티스를 인간의 지식과 경험으로 사유할 수 있게 만들었다. 유토피아와 관련된 전제조건과 임의성에는 우리가 유토피아를 인식할 수 있는 명확한 요소들이 존재한다. 유토피아에는 논리적 오류가 없다는 절대적 믿음에 의해 우리는 유토피아의 세상을 자유롭게 넘나들 수 있다. 유토피아는 현실사회에 존재하지 않는 장소이다. 허구의 세상인 유토피아는 우리의 상상력에 의해 현실사회와 유사한 그럴듯한 세상이 된다. 그러나 플라톤이 언급한 아틀란티스는 이차적인 이론을 파생시킨다. 이러한 문제의식은 아틀란티스에 대한 전제조건과 임의성이 생략되어 있다는 사실에서 시작된다. 아틀란티스의 이야기는 지구가 우주의 중심이었던 시기에 만들어졌다. 플라톤은 아틀란티스를 설명하기 위해 새로운 지식으로 해석할 수 있는 공간을 제공했다. 아틀란티스는 시대의 변화와 기술이 반영되기에 세상에 대한 새로운 모형이 된다. 그곳은 이론과 임의성이 지배하는 세상이다. 우리는 문학과 철학에서 아틀란티스와 유사한 세상을 만들어 새로운 사건을 관찰하고 실험한다. 플라톤은 새로운 세상을 탄생시켰다. 그리고 아틀란티스는 시대의 변화에 깊이 관여한다. 결과적으로 아틀란티스는 유토피아의 의미 작용이 일어나는 장소이다. 이 논문은 아틀란티스에 대한 새로운 정보와 기술의 발달이 끝없이 새로운 이야기를 생산한다는 사실에서 출발한다.

영문 초록

This paper studies the term ‘utopia’ that has prerequisite and arbitrariness to understand Atlantis in a unknown aspects. The origin of utopia comes from the place name ‘Atlantis’ mentioned by Plato. Plato demarcated us to contemplate the ideal world of Atlantis through human knowledge and experience. There are elements that allow us to recognize utopia related to its prerequsite and arbitrariness in this paper. Based on the absolute belief that there are no logical errors in utopia, we can freely traverse the world of utopia. The term ‘utopia’ represents a repeated place that does not exist in real world. This fictional world becomes a possible world similar to the real thing through our imagination. So that the Atlantis mentioned by Plato derives secondary theories. This problem starts from the fact that the prerequisites and arbitrariness of Atlantis are omitted at any rate. The story of Atlantis was created during the time when the Earth was considered the center of the universe. Plato created a space that could be interpreted with new knowledge in order to map Atlantis. Atlantis becomes a new model for the world as it reflects changes and technology. Therefore, it is a world dominated by theory and arbitrariness. In literature and philosophy, we create worlds similar to Atlantis to observe and experiment with new events. Plato gave birth to a new world, and Atlantis deeply engages with changes over time. Consequently, Atlantis is a place where the proactive meaning of utopia occurs. This paper starts from the fact that new information and technological advancements about Atlantis endlessly produce new narratives.
