국문 초록

본 논문은 제주해녀의 보존과 전승을 지속하기 위한 방안으로 제주해녀의 토착적 지식을 고찰하고 활용하는 것이 충분한 가치와 잠재력이 있음을 전제로 하는 기초 연구이다. 이를 위해 논문의 전반부에서는 유네스코를중심으로 전세계적으로 지속가능성의 중요성을 강조하고 그 과정에서 토착적 지식의 가치를 재조명하는 현황을인식하고, 토착적 지식의 개념과 지속가능성에 대한 이론적 고찰을 하였다. 논문의 후반부에서는 이론적 고찰 내용과 제주해녀 관련 선행연구 내용을 바탕으로 제주해녀의 토착적 지식을 분석하였다. 세부적으로 경제적 지속가능성, 환경적 지속가능성, 사회적 지속가능성이라는 관점으로 제주해녀의 토착적 지식이 가지고 있는 특성에대해 논의하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구가 제주해녀의 토착적 지식에 대한 이론적 접근과 지속가능성 관점에서의분석이 제주해녀의 지속가능성을 함양하기 위한 노력의 토대가 될 수 있는 효과적인 기초 연구가 될 수 있음을 역설하였다.

영문 초록

This study is based on the premise that there is sufficient value and potential to consider and utilize the indigenous knowledge of Jeju Haenyeo (Women Divers) in the preservation and transmission plan of Jeju Haenyeo (Women Divers). In the first half of the thesis, the status of re-examining the value of indigenous knowledge in the process of emphasizing the importance of sustainability in UNESCO and other countries around the world was discussed. In addition, the theoretical consideration of the concept of indigenous knowledge and sustainability were conducted. In the latter part of the thesis, the indigenous knowledge of Jeju Haenyeo (Women Divers) was analyzed based on the theoretical considerations and previous studies related to Jeju Haenyeo (Women Divers). In detail, the characteristics of Jeju haenyeo (Women Divers)’s indigenous knowledge were discussed in terms of economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and social sustainability. In conclusion, this study emphasized that the theoretical approach and the analysis from the perspective of sustainability to the indigenous knowledge of Jeju Haenyeo (Women Divers) can be an effective basic research that can be the basis of efforts to cultivate the sustainability of Jeju Haenyeo (Women Divers).
