국문 초록

본고는 재북 시인으로서 백석이 사상 투쟁이라는 당대 북한 문단의 주류에서 이탈하여 전개했던 아동 문학론에 주목하여, 그가 지향했던 ‘시정(詩情)’이 가리키는 지점을 해명하고자 했다. 분단 후 백석이 가장 적극적으로 논의를 개진한 것이 바로 당시 아동문학 분과장이었던 리원우와의 ‘아동문학 논쟁’이었는데, 이때 발표된 평론에서 그는 북한 문학계의 도식주의를 강도 높게 비판하였다. 특히 이 시기 백석이 타협의 여지 없이 저항했던 ‘지배 담론의 획일성’은 분단 이전 그가 꾸준히 탈주하고자 했던 근대적 동일성의 세계를 상기시킨다. 이처럼 백석은 자신의 평론을 통해 언급했던 ‘지속적으로 강요되는 교훈’, ‘주입되는 의식’과 끊임없이 마찰하면서 당대 북한 아동 문학계의 주류를 형성했던 창작 방법에 끊임없이 의문을 제기하였다. 재북 시기 백석의 동시와 동화시는 시인의 이와 같은 시적 인식이 구체적으로 실현된 작품으로써, 분단 이전의 백석이 형상화한 미적 공간과도 그 성격을 공유하고 있다. 즉 ‘오월이’에서 ‘쫓기달래’로 변화하는 그 순간, ‘오월이’를 둘러싼 모든 제약이 소멸됨으로써 존재의 동등성이 보장되는 ‘내재성의 평면’이 시적 세계 안에서 순식간에 구축된다. 더불어 새롭게 변용된 이 존재는 이전과 달리 스스로 현존하면서 전 단계의 결핍을 해소한 전혀 다른 주체로 거듭나고 있는데, 이는 분단 이전에도 백석의 작품의 시적 주체가 보여주었던 ‘탈주체화’의 과정이기도 하다.

영문 초록

This paper focuses on the theory of children's literature that Baek-seok developed as a poet in North Korea. Baek-seok deviated from the mainstream North Korean literary world of the time, called “ideological struggle.” He explained that he was aspiring to write “poetically inspiring (詩情)” work. After the division, Baek-seok's most active discussion was the “Children's Literature Debate” with Lee Won-woo, the head of the children's literature division at the time. In a review, he strongly criticized the schematicism of the North Korean literary community. In particular, the “uniformity of the ruling discourse” that Baek-seok resisted during this period reminded him of the world of “modern identity” that he steadily wanted to escape from, even before the division. As such, Baek-seok resisted the “constantly forced lessons” and “injected consciousness” mentioned in his review. In addition, he questioned the creative method that formed the mainstream of the North Korean children's literature community. In Baek-seok's fairy tale poetry “Jjotgidallae,” the poet's poetic perception is realized in detail, and it also shares its character with the aesthetic space embodied by Baek-seok before the division. In other words, at the moment when it changes from “O Woli” to “Jjotgidallae,” a “plane of immanence” that guarantees equivalence of existence, is quickly established in the poetic world as all restrictions surrounding “O Woli” are extinguished. This newly transformed existence is reborn as a completely different subject that exists on its own, unlike before, and solves deficiencies at all levels. This is also the process of “Desubjectivization” - a poetic subject of Baek-seok's work that emerged even before the division.
