국문 초록

목적: 이 연구는 예비 교원의 수업 역량에 대한 구체적인 평가와 피드백을 위한 방향 제시를 위해 미국 예비 교사 수행 평가(Educative Teacher Perfor- mance Assessment, edTPA) 과정의 영상 분석(Video Analysis Sessions, VAS)을 중심으로 수업 역량 평가 체계를 논의하고자 한다. 방법: 본고에서는 예비 교원의 수업 역량을 평가하기 위한 구체적인 방법과 체계를 마련하기 위한 기초 작업의 일환으로 edTPA 과정을 처음부터 끝까지 논의하는 대신 edTPA 체계 안에서도 ‘영상 분석(VAS)’을 중심으로 주요 절차와 그간의 논의 내용을 정리하고자 하였다. 결과: 영상 분석의 목적, 단계, 채점 기준을 논의하고, 우리나라 교원양성과정에 반영할 만한 시사점을 정리하였다. 결론: 실습학기제 동영상 분석 활용을 위한 시사점을 추려내고, 평가 제도가 일으킬 수 있는 몇몇 부작용과 고려해야 할 부분을 선례를 바탕으로 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study was aimed at evaluating the Video Analysis Sessions (VAS) within Educative Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) in the United States. It critiqued the current teaching competency assessment framework, offering insights on more precise evaluation and feedback mechanisms for preservice teachers’ instructional skills. Methods: The research eschews a comprehensive review of the entire edTPA process. Instead, it concentrates on the VAS component, laying the foundation for a robust method and system of appraising preservice teachers’ educational com- petencies. Results: The study presented the purpose, procedure, and scoring criteria of the video analysis and summarized the implications of the results for teacher education systems in South Korea. Conclusion: The implications for using video analysis in the practicum semester system were summarized and the potential effects of the evaluation system and areas to be considered were discussed on the basis of precedents in the field. The edTPA is significant as it establishes a basis for quantifying, structuring, and evaluating classroom competencies. Additionally, it provides a framework for structuring practical courses and delineating step-by-step objectives and tasks.
