마르코 복음이 전하는 성령 모독죄

국문 초록

마르 3,28-29의 예수님 말씀은 사람들이 짓는 모든 죄와 모독이 용서될 수 있음을 전제하면서도 ‘성령 모독’이라는 단 하나의 예외적인 경우를 언급함으로써 그 중대한 죄에 대한 독자의 궁금증과 두려움을 동시에 자아낸다. 본 논고는 마르코 복음이 전하는 이 의미심장한 말씀의 의미를 추적하는 것을 목표로 한다. 그런데 해당 연구에 있어 유의할 점이 있다. 병행하는 마태 12,32와 루카12,10은 마르코의 구절과 비교했을 때 두드러진 차이를 보인다. 두 병행 구절은 마르코에 나타나지 않는 ‘사람의 아들’에 대한 모독을 함께 언급하면서 그를 모독하는 행위는 용서될 것이나 성령 모독은 결코 용서될 수 없다는 식의 뚜렷한 대조를 보여준다. 그리고 루카의 구절은 마르코와 전혀 다른 문맥 속에서 발견된다. 주석자들은 반드시 이러한 차이를 염두에 두고, 마태오나 루카의 구절에서 이끌어 낸 성령 모독에 관한 해석을 마르코의 구절에 함부로 적용하는 우를 범하지 않도록 주의할 필요가 있다. 본 논고는 마르코 저자가 성령 모독에 관한 말씀을 배치하고 있는 단락을 분석함으로써 그 안에서 해당 구절이 갖는 의미와 역할을 고찰한다. 특히 예수님의 논증을 구성하는 세 부분을 - 갈라진 나라/집안의 비유(3,23-26), 강한 자의 비유(3,27), 성령 모독에 관한 말씀(3,28-29) - 집중적으로 조명하면서, 이들이 점진적으로 발전하는 전개 양상을 보이는 가운데 마지막 부분에서 절정에 이르는 직선적인 구조를 지니고 있음을 확인한다. 방어에서 공격으로 태세를 전환한 논증의 절정 국면에서 율법 학자들의 비난(“베엘제불이 들렸다”[22절])은 성령을 모독한 행위로 규정된다. 이는 예수님의 구마 사건에서 누구나 쉽게 식별할 수 있는 성령의 활동을 더러운 영의 활동으로 왜곡하는 행위로서 하느님의 구원 의지를 원천적으로 거부하는 태도와 관련된다. 따라서 마르 3,29은 율법 학자들처럼 예수님의 구원 활동을 전적으로 외면하고 거부하는 사람들, 곧 하느님 편이 아니라 사탄의 편에 선 자들에게 구원에 필요한 용서의 선물이 허락되지 않으리라는 심판의 메시지를 함축한다. 이러한 심판의 말씀은 예수님 가족에 관한 이야기의 문맥 속에서(3,20-21; 3,31-35) 다시금 조명되면서, 그분의 새로운 가족으로 여겨질 수 있는 모든 신앙인에게 향하는 강한 경고의 메시지로 작용하게 된다.

영문 초록

Jesus’ saying in Mark 3,28-29 prerequisites “all sins and all blasphemes will be forgiven”, but mentioned one exceptional case, “blasphemy against the holy Spirit”, which leads to arouse curiosity and fear about this grave sin to the readers. This study aims to trace the meaning of this significant phrase. But, in relevant research, there is a point keep in mind. When compare to parallel verse of Matthew 12,32, Luke 12,10, prominent difference is found. Those two parallel verses also mentioned the blasphemy against ‘Son of Man’, which is not appeared in Mark, but those verses show distinct comparison that the blasphemy against Him will be forgiven but the blasphemy against the holy Spirit will never be forgiven. And Luke’s verse is showed in totally different context from Mark. Commentators should bear in mind such difference, not to make error of applying thoughtlessly interpretation about blasphemy against the holy Spirit from Matthew or Luke to Mark. This study analyzed the paragraph where the saying of blasphemy against the holy Spirit in Mark, then considered the meaning and the role of this verse in the positioned paragraph. Especially, this study confirmed, while examining intensively 3 parts of composing Jesus’ argument parable of divided kingdom and family (3,23-26), parable of strong man (3,27), blasphemy against the holy Spirit (3,28-29), and while showing intensively gradual development aspect, at last showed lineal structure at the climax. At the climax of the argument, being transferred from defense to offense situation, the criticism of the Scribes (”He is possessed by Beelzebul 3,22”) is defined as the blasphemy against the holy Spirit. This is the distorted deed that the acting of the holy Spirit in Jesus’ exorcism, which can be discerned easily, to the acting of the evil spirit, and is related to deny fundamentally the Will of God’s salvation. Hence, Mark 3,29 implies the judgement message that the gift of forgiveness needed for salvation will not allow to those who stand by Satan not by God, like the Scribes who turn away and deny completely Jesus’ salvation acting. Such a word about judgement is lighted again in the passage about family (3,20-21; 3,31-35), and come into a strong warning message to all the faithful who are considered as to new family of Jesus.
