노인의 사회자본이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 노인을 대상으로 사회자본과 삶의 만족도의 관계를 살펴보고, 둘의 관계에서 임파워먼트가 갖는 매개효과를 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 전라북도 14개 시·군에 거주하는 65세 이상노인 500명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 408명의 응답을 SPSS 22.0과 AMOS 22.0 통계프로그램을 활용하여 최종 분석 하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 노인의 사회자본이 삶의 만족도에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 사회자본에 대한 인식이 높을수록 임파워먼트가 증가하는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 노인의 임파워먼트가 높을수록 삶의 만족이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 노인의 사회자본은 임파워먼트를 매개로 삶의 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 노인의 사회자본을 형성하여 새로운 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 하여 임파워먼트를 향상시켜 삶의 만족도를 높일 수 있도록 실천적·정책적 함의를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the association between social capital and life satisfaction among elders, examining the mediation role of empowerment. Among 414 original responses, 408 participants were included in the final analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. According to the results, social capital showed direct effects on the level of life satisfaction. Secondly, it was confirmed that higher awareness of social capital was associated with higher levels of empowerment. Thirdly, it was found that higher levels of empowerment were associated with greater life satisfaction. Lastly, it was found that social capital had a positive effect on life satisfaction through empowerment. The results of the current study highlights practical implications for future support on elderly population. Practical and political efforts are suggested to assist elders form social capital, to ultimately increase empowerment for greater quality of life. The results support and expand the current literature to clarify the association between social capital, satisfaction in life and impact of elderly population. Detailed implications and future research directions are discussed.
