국문 초록

본 연구는 글로벌 리더십 프로그램(GLP)에 참여한 간호대학생의 국제보건역량의 변화와GLP 경험의 의의를 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 연구참여자는 2023년 6월 25일부터 7월 2일까지 8박 9일 동안 키르기스스탄에서 진행된 글로벌 리더십 프로그램에 참여한 간호대학생 35 명이다. 프로그램은 사전교육 2회, 키르기스스탄 현지 GLP 활동 및 프로그램 종료 1개월 후프로그램 평가로 구성되었다. 프로그램 참여 전·후 국제보건역량에 대한 설문을 진행하여 양적·질적 역량변화를 평가하였고, 키르기스스탄 GLP 현지 활동기간 동안 매일 작성한 성찰일지를 내용분석하여 프로그램 경험 의의를 탐색하였다. 본 연구결과, GLP 참여자는 세계보건에 대한 이해와 국제보건역량의 통계적으로 유의한 양적·질적 향상을 나타냈다. 특히 문화의다양성에 대한 이해와 수용에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 참가자들은 프로그램 처음의 설레임과 높은 기대감부터 좌절의 순간까지 다양한 감정을 겪으며, 성취감과 개인의 역량 발전을 경험하였다. 즉 GLP 경험은 국제보건역량을 향상시키고, 좌절을 경험하며 이를 극복하여개인 역량 발전의 기회가 되었다. 간호교육에서 국제보건역량을 갖춘 글로벌 간호인재 양성은 중요한 문제로, 국제보건역량은 단기간에 변화가 어려우므로 이에 대한 준비가 필요하다. 본 연구를 토대로 글로벌 역량이 중요시되고 있는 간호교육 현장에서 세계시민의식 향상을 위한 지속적이고 실천적인 프로그램 및 다양한 학습방법의 개발과 적용이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to evaluate the development of global health competency in nursing students participating in the Global Leadership Program (GLP) and to explore the significance of their GLP experience. The research involved 35 nursing students who engaged in the GLP in Kyrgyzstan from June 25 to July 2, 2023. The program encompassed pre-program training, local internship, and post-program evaluation. Data collection involved administering online surveys on global health competency before and after program participation and analyzing daily reflection journals kept by participants during GLP activities. Results demonstrated statistically significant quantitative and qualitative advancements in global health understanding, expanded perspectives, and improved global health competency. GLP activities positively impacted participants' comprehension and acceptance of cultural diversity. Additionally, participants underwent a spectrum of emotions, from initial excitement and high expectations to moments of frustration, concluding with a sense of fulfillment and personal development. The GLP experience embodied the essence of “fostering global health competency, experiencing barriers, overcoming them, and seizing opportunities for personal development”. In nursing education, this study highlights the necessity of preparing globally competent nursing professionals, emphasizing that global health competency development is a continuous effort requiring ongoing practical programs and the application of diverse learning methods to enhance global awareness.
