국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 <서재야회록(書齋夜會錄)>의 대화적 특징을 분석하여 작가가 궁극적으로 던지고자 하는 메시지를 고찰하는 것이다. <서재야회록>은 문방사우라는 전통적 소재를 매개로 대화에 대한 새로운 관점을 제시하고 있다. 대화에 적합한 시공간을 설정하고 위계의 해체를 통해 상호 이해를 도모하였다. 그럼에도 상대의 말을 완벽하게 이해하지 못하는 상황을 제시함으로써 대화나 논쟁 중에는 진실을 알기 어려우며, 대화에서 한발 물러나 상대의 상황이나 처지를 알게 될 때 비로소 진실을 알 수 있음을 강조하였다. 작가 신광한(申光漢)은 이 작품을 통해 세상을 조화롭게 다스리는 방법을 제시하고자 하였는데, 이는 이 작품의 대화적 특징과 작품 세계의 분석을 통해 확인할 수 있다. 그는 어떠한 사안이나 사건에 대한 처리는, 대화나 논쟁이 진행되는 당시의 상황보다는 당사자들의 입장과 처지 등을 살핀 후 이를 바탕으로 하는 것이 바람직하며, 일이 이렇게 처리된다면 세상에는 억울한 일도 기이한 현상들도 나타나지 않아 조화롭게 다스려질 수 있음을 말하고자 한 것이다. 이것이 바로 그가 대황락(大荒落)의 해를 맞아 문방사우(文房四友)를 매개로 이 작품을 창작한 이유라 할 수 있다. 그간 <서재야회록>에 대한 연구는 소재의 평범성과 주제의 단순성 등의 이유로 작품 세계에 대한 심층적 이해를 도모하지 못한 경향이 있다. 본고가 제시한 대화적 특징 및 작품 세계를 통해 이 작품이 새롭게 이해되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the conversational characteristics of and, based on this, to consider the message the author ultimately wants to send. This work presents a new perspective on conversation through the traditional material of Munbangsawoo. A time and space appropriate for conversation were set, and an attempt was made to dismantle the hierarchy to ensure smooth progress of conversation. Nevertheless, he presented a situation in which he could not completely understand what the other person was saying. Therefore, it was emphasized that it is difficult to know the truth during a conversation or argument, and that the truth can only be known when you take a step back from the conversation and learn about the other person's situation or position. Through this work, author Shin Gwang-han attempted to suggest a way to rule the world harmoniously, which can be confirmed through the conversational characteristics of this work and analysis of the world of the work. When dealing with an issue or incident, he looks at the positions and circumstances of the parties rather than the situation at the time of the conversation or argument, and then handles it based on this, so that no unfair events or strange phenomena appear in the world, and everything is harmonious. It can be said that this is meant to say that it can be done. This may be the reason why the author created this work through Munbangsawoo to celebrate the year of DaeHwangrak(大荒落). So far, research on this work has tended to fail to promote an in-depth understanding of the world of the work due to the banality of the material and simplicity of the theme. It is hoped that this work will be newly understood through the dialogical features and world of the work presented in this paper.
