만재(晩齋) 주원택(朱元澤)의 가사 창작과 의식 세계

국문 초록

이 논문은 만재 주원택의 새로운 가사 작품들을 발굴하여 학계에 보고하려는 목적을 가지고 있다. 또한 주원택의 삶을 추정하여 가사 창작의 목적과 배경, 그리고 작품에 나타난 작가 의식을 파악해 보고자 했다. 그의 가사집 『금수강산유람기(錦繡江山遊覽記)』에 수록된 창작 가사들은대부분 1960년대 작품으로 추정된다. 그의 작품에는 조선 후기에 자주 사용되었던 이중자의(二重字義)의 표현 방식이 나타난다. 가사의 어절에 중의적 표현을 사용함으로써 새로운 의미를 부여하는 이중자의는 조선 후기 유행하였던 언어유희적 표현 방식으로 조선 후기의 가사뿐만 아니라 시조, 잡가, 한시 등에 두루 나타나는 시적 특징 중 하나이다. 광복 이후 전통시가 양식은 근대문학 양식으로 교체된 시점이며 현대까지 이어져오는 가사는 주로 규방가사이다. 이러한 점을 고려하면 20세기에 창작된 그의 가사 작품들은 조선 후기 유행했던 언어유희적 표현 방식을 계승하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 그의 가사 작품에는 다양한 내용이 문학적 소재로 활용되고 있다는 것을 확인 할 수 있다. 여기서 주목한 것은 우리 민족의 역사를 소재로 하고 있는 작품들이다. 그는 <대한(大韓)자랑>·<경주유람(慶州遊覽)>·<등남산공원찬(登南山公園讃)>·<국군묘지참배(國軍墓地參拜)>와 같은 작품들을 통해 당대의 시대상을 반영하고 있다. 역사를 소재로 한 작품들은 그의 작가 의식과도 밀접하게 연결된다. 20세기는 일제강점기 일본으로부터 주권과 국토를 빼앗기고, 6·25전쟁과 4·19혁명, 5·16군사정변 등을 겪으며 민족 갈등이 일어난 시기이다. 그는 이러한 국가적 위기를 극복하는 방안으로 민족의 단결을 제시하고 있다. 그에게 민족의 단결은 국가적 위기를 극복하는 동시에 우리민족이 나아갈 길이었다. 따라서 그는 우리의 역사와 문화 등을 통해 민족의 주체성을 강조하고 민족적 자부심을 회복함으로써 국가의 위기를 극복할 수 있을 것으로 생각했다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to discover Manjae, Ju Won-taek's new Gasa works and report them to the academic world. In addition, by estimating Ju Won-taek's life, this study tried to understand the purpose and background of Gasa writing, and the writer's consciousness shown in the works. Most of the original Gasas included in his Gasa-anthology “Geumsugangsan Travelogue (錦繡江山遊覽記)” are presumed to be his works in the 1960s. In his works, the expression method of dual meaning (二重字義), which was frequently used in the late Joseon Dynasty, appears. Dual meaning, which gives a new meaning to Gasa's word-syllable by using an ambiguous expression, is one of the poetic characteristics that appear throughout sijo, japga, and Chinese poetry, as well as Gasa in the late Joseon Dynasty as a pun expression method that was popular in the late Joseon Dynasty. After liberation, the traditional Shiga was replaced by the pre-modern literature style, and Gasa that has continued to the modern times is mainly Gyubang- Gasa. Considering this point, it can be seen that his Gasa works written in the 20th century inherited the pun expression method that was popular in the late Joseon Dynasty. Also, it can be confirmed that various contents are used as literary materials in his Gasa works. What is paid attention to here are the works based on the history of our nation. Through works such as “Daehan (大韓) Pride”, “Gyeongju Travel (慶州遊覽)”, “Deungnamsangongwonchan (登南山公園讃)”, and “Armed Forces National Cemetery Visit Worship (國軍墓地參拜)”, he reflected the phases of the times. His works based on history are closely connected to his consciousness as a writer. The 20th century was a time when sovereignty and land were taken away from Imperial Japan during the Imperial Japan’s colonial period, and ethnic conflicts arose through 6-25 War, 4-19 Revolution, and 5-16 Military Coup. He suggests national unity as a way to overcome these national crises. To him, unity of the nation was the way to overcome the national crisis and at the same time, the way for our people to move forward. Therefore, He thought we would be able to overcome the country's crisis by emphasizing the identity of the nation through our history and culture and restoring national pride.
