日本占領期インドネシアの二言語雑誌『ジャワ·バル』に載せられた文学作品とその意味

국문 초록

本研究は､日本占領期東南アジア(本稿では主にインドネシア)の文学作品研究が日本の観点から研究された､あるいは東南アジア研究の場で進められてきた限界から脱し､日本とインドネシアの関係性であることに注目し､インドネシア日本語南洋文学を新たに定義した上で､その基礎的資料にあたる『ジャワ·バル』を重点的に分析した｡ 『ジャワ·バル』の文学作品を分析する上で重要な端緒は､果たしてインドネシアの知識人は皆これまでの先行研究が明らかにしてきたように､日本軍政に協力的だったのかという問いである｡このような問いに答えるため､本研究では､まず､インドネシアの知識人が日本の南進に反応した三つの様相―日本軍政に協力的な場合､多少批判的な場合､無関心な場合―を列挙し､その中で多少批判的な場合の反応はどのように展開されたかを確認した｡ 上記のような南進に関する三つの反応は､二言語雑誌『ジャワ·バル』にもそのまま繰り返されるものだった｡ただし､本研究はこれまでのインドネシア研究のヘゲモニーとして残っていた｢インドネシアは日本にとって協調的だった｣という論理に反例として活用可能な作品を重点的に考察した｡その結果､インドネシアの知識人たちが考えた当時の時代像は決して｢大東亜共栄圏｣に簡単に編入できるものではなく､彼らなりの文化的自負心と民族主義的精神で｢独立した一つのインドネシア｣を望んでいたことを明確にした｡ 特に､上記のようなインドネシア日本語南洋文学の特徴は､今後､南洋文学研究が日本中心主義から抜け出し､他国の南洋言説と相互比較されるしかない位置にあることを確認したという点で大きな意義を持つと言えるだろう｡

영문 초록

This study focused on the relationship between Japan and Indonesia, which has been studied from a Japanese perspective or in Southeast Asian research, and analyzed the basic data 『Jawa·Baroe』 based on the new definition of Indonesian Japanese Nanyo literature. An important clue to the analysis of 『Jawa·Baroe』 literature came from the question of whether all Indonesian intellectuals were cooperative with the Japanese military government as previous studies have shown. To answer these questions, this study first listed three aspects of Indonesian response of intellectuals to Japan's southward advancement: cooperation with the Japanese military government, somewhat critical, and indifference. The above three reactions to the southward march were repeated in the dual-word magazine 『Jawa·Baroe』. However, this study focused on works that could be used as counter examples to the logic that “Indonesia was cooperative for Japan,” which remained as hegemony of Indonesian research so far. As a result, it was clear that Indonesian intellectuals at that time wanted an independent Indonesia with their own cultural pride and nationalistic spirit, rather than being easily incorporated into the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere. In particular, the characteristics of Indonesian Japanese Nanyo literature as described above are more meaningful in that it has confirmed that Nanyo literature research is in a position where it can only be compared with other countries’ Nanyo literature.
