국문 초록

문화 기억은 권력이 주도적으로 선택한 기억에 기반한 공식적 역사로부터 기억의 주체가 다양화, 다층화한다는 의미에서 대중문화 차원의 문화 기억이라고 할 수 있다. 한편, 문화 기억은 다양한 매체를 통한 재현 방식과 재현 방식을 통한 기억의 변화를 밝히고, 기억을 고정된 실체로 파악하거나, 투쟁 기억의 정치적 환원주의를 넘어 기억의 윤리적 가치 실현에 기여할 수 있는 기억 이해가 될 수 있다. 이를 위해 얀 아스만은 다양한 기억의 전달 매체 중에서 기억의 유지와 전승에 중요한 역할을 하는 기억 의례, 특히 종교적 기억 의례의 중요성을 언급한다. 문화 기억의 관점으로, 5·18 기억이 국가 공권력에 의해 제도화, 경직화, 지역화되는 것에 관한 위험성을 발견할 필요가 있다. 수천 년 동안 지속된 종교 의례 특징에 근거해, 인류 보편적 윤리 실현을 위해 제한된 시-공간을 넘어 국가 권력의 폭력에 저항한 전 세계의 기억 공동체와의 연대를 통해 진정한 5·18 희생자들의 정신인 인권, 민주, 평화를 체현하는 기억을 실행하기 위해 끊임없이 5·18 기념 의례를 성찰해야 한다.

영문 초록

Cultural memory can be said to be cultural memory at the level of popular culture in the sense that the subject of memory diversifies and becomes multilayered from the official history based on the authoritative memory. On the other hand, cultural memory is an understanding of memory that can contribute to the realization of the ethical value of memory beyond political reductionism. Political reductionism thinks of memory as a fixed entity. Representation method uses various media and memory can change using the representation method. To this end, Jan Assmann mentions the importance of memory rituals, especially religious rituals, which play an important role in maintaining and transmitting memories through various media of memory delivery. From the perspective of cultural memory, when it comes to the 5·18 memory, it is necessary to look at the dangers of institutionalization, rigidification, and localization of that memory by state authorities. We must constantly reflect on the 5.18 memorial ceremony in order to practice the memory that embodies the true spirits of 5.18 victims; human rights, democracy, and peace. Understanding the characteristics of religious rituals that have lasted for thousands of years in solidarity with communities of memory around the world that have resisted state violence will help realize a universal ethics for mankind.
