NIM 게임에서 수학 영재의 필승전략에 대한 추론 사례 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 Nim 게임에서 중학교 수학영재들의 필승전략 탐구 방법을 조사하기 위하여 Nim 게임을 단순화하여 한 더미 대상 게임을 1단계, 두 더미 대상 게임을 2단계, 세 더미 대상 게임인 Nim 게임을 3단계로 구분하여 단계별로 탐구활동을 실시하였다. 학생들은 난이도가 낮은 1단계에서는 연역적 추론을 통하여 쉽게 필승전략을 발견하였다. 2단계에서는 연역적 추론으로 접근한 학생들은 필승전략을 발견하였으나 귀납적 추론만으로 접근한 학생들은 필승전략 발견에 실패하였다. 3단계 게임에서는 연역적 추론으로 필승전략을 발견한 학생들은 없었으며 일부 학생들의 귀납적 추론에는 오류가 발견되었다. 일부 수학영재들은 유한개의 경우에서 성립하는 패턴을 그 이상의 경우에서도 성립한다고 의심 없이 신뢰하는 경향을 보였지만 추측이 실패할 수 있다는 경험을 통하여 직관적인 패턴에 대한 정당화의 중요성을 인식하게 되었다. 학생들에게 이진법 -박스를 시각적으로 제시한 결과, 학생들은 필승전략에 대한 패턴을 쉽게 발견할 수 있었으며, 일부 학생들은 발견한 필승전략을 정당화하는 단계에 도달할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the method of exploring the winning strategy of middle school mathematic gifted students in the NIM game. we divided into one stage game for a file game, two stage game for two files game, and tree stage game for Nim game. In the first stage, it was easy to find a winning strategy through deductive reasoning. In the second stage, students approaching with deductive reasoning found a winning strategy, but students approaching only with inductive reasoning found an error in the winning strategy. In the third stage, there were students who tried to find a winning strategy with inductive reasoning, but none of them approached it with deductive reasoning. Some of the mathematically gifted students tended to trust established patterns in a limited number of cases, but they recognized the importance of justification for intuitive patterns through the experience of failure of an inferred pattern. As a result of visually presenting the binaries -box to the students, the students were able to easily find the pattern of the winning strategy and some students could reach a stage of justifying the winning strategy.
