판소리 계통 공연 예술들을 통해 본 오늘날 판소리의 나아갈 길

국문 초록

판소리는 조선 후기에 성립된 예술이기에 문학, 음악, 연극 여러 요소들이 기본적으로 조선 시대적인 것이다. 따라서 근대 사회가 지속될수록 판소리의 예술성은 약화되고 언젠가는 단지 고전 예술로만 남을 것이다.오늘날 우리들은 단순히 판소리를 향유하는 것을 넘어 판소리 예술의 가장 중요한 점인 음악적 성과를 잇고 더 나아가 이를 더욱 발전시킬 수 있는 근대적 공연물을 가졌으면 한다. 판소리가 근대 사회에 이어지며 창극, 여성국극, 창작 판소리 등을 가졌다. 이러한 공연물들은 판소리를 완전히 잇는 성공적인 공연물은 되지 못했지만, 판소리를 이을 후계자가 어떤 것이 되어야 할 것인가에 대해서는 모두 일정한 시사(示唆)를 하고 있다. 이러한 판소리 계통 공연물들에 대한 고찰을 통해 창극이 사실상 판소리를 잇는 가장 적절한 근대적 공연물이었음을 알 수 있었다. 창극은 근대에 판소리보다 더욱 발전된 공연 방식으로 시작되었지만, 일제하의 간고(艱苦), 여성국극의 횡행, 군사 정부 시절 하의 국립창극단의 제한성 등으로 근대 판소리의 후계자적 공연물로 제대로 발전하지 못했다.이제 창극의 발전을 가로막은 여러 요소들이 없어졌다. 창극이 판소리를 잇는 우리 시대의 성공적인 공연물이 되기를 바란다. 오늘날 판소리의 길은 근대적 공연물로서의 성공적인 창극를 향해 가는 방향에 놓여 있어야 하는 것이다.

영문 초록

The Way of Pansori from the View of Pansori Orign Performing ArtsSon, Tae DoPansori was made in the later Joseon dynasty so it's literary, musical, and playing elements are basically those of Joseon dynasty.As the modern society goes on, as Pansori's artistic features will be vanished. Pansori will be remained as only a classic art at last.Today, we want to have a modern performing art succeeding, and, futher more, making better Pansori's musical achievement that is very essential in Pansori's artistic aspects.Pansori had Chang-geuk (창극. musical drama like Opera in Europe), Women's Chang-geuk (여성국극), and new Pansori works through the modernized period.They weren't successive performing arts succeeding Pansori completely, but they can suggest the aspects needed to Pansori's successor in modern times. Trough the study of those Pansori origin performing arts, we can know that Chang-geuk was the most appropriate performing art succeeding Pansori in fact. It was begun as a more developed performing style art than Pansori in modern times, but couldn't be developed as a successive Pansori successor by the suffering of Korean under the rule of Japanese imperialism, the prevalence of Women's Chang-geuk, and the limitation of the National Chang-geuk Company (국립 창극단) under the rule of military Governments.Now all aspects that had prohibited the development of Chang-geuk are disappeared.I expect that Chang-geuk will be a successive performing art succeeding Pansori in our days.Today, the way of Pansori must be laid to the successive Chang-geuk as a modern art.
