국문 초록

본 연구는 실제 상담 현장에서 상담자들이 성별 소수자 내담자를 만나고 있는데도 불구하고 성별소수자에 대한 상담 개입의 실제에 대한 논의가 부족하다는 문제의식에서 출발하였다. 이에 국외 연구를 중심으로 성별 소수자 대상 상담 개입 실제와 관련한 논의를 탐색하고 개관하고자 하였다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 위하여 2012년부터 2022년까지 최근 10년간 출판된 성별 소수자 상담 실제와관련된 연구를 분석하고 그 결과를 주요 상담이론별로 구분하여 제시하였다. 성별 소수자 대상 상담개입 실제에 대한 국외 연구는 정체성 긍정 상담 차원의 접근과 전통적 상담 이론을 성별 소수자의특성에 맞춰 적용한 접근으로 나뉜다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정체성 긍정 상담과 전통적 상담이론이라는 큰 틀에 기반하여 각 이론별 개입 방법을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 향후 성별 소수자 대상 상담개입에 대한 논의와 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study is driven by the recognition of a lack of research on counseling interventions andpractices tailored to gender minority clients, despite the prevalence of such clients in real-lifecounseling settings. As a result, this study aims to explore and summarize studies on theoreticalcounseling approaches for gender minority clients based on overseas research. To achieve thisresearch goal, this study summarizes results of studies published in academic journals from 2012to 2022. Research on counseling interventions for gender minority clients can be broadlycategorized into two main groups: affirmative counseling and traditional counseling theoriesculturally adapted to gender minority clients. This study presents the specifics of interventionsbased on the classification of affirmative counseling and traditional counseling theories. Finally,implications for counseling for gender minority clients are provided.
