국문 초록

본 연구는 노바야 드라마에 대한 국내 연구의 지평을 확장 시키기 위한 시도의 하나로, 비리파예프의 작품의 특징을 ‘서사적 자아’와 ‘정체성 회복’이라는 키워드를 통해 설명해 내고, 그의 창작 여정 중 형식적 변화가 두드러지는 기점들을 포착해 구체적인 작품 예시를 통해 그 의미를 분석해 보고자 한다. <산소>, <창세기 №2>, <7월>을 포함한 초기 비리파예프의 희곡들은 자극적인 소재 선정과 단속적 장면전환, 화자-인물의 빠른 랩-대사를 통해 모든 쾌락이 허용된 현대인의 정신적 방황과 존재론적 위기의 상황을 전면화한다. 이후 <델리 댄스>, <환상들>, <술에 취한 사람들>, <참을 수 없을 만큼 긴 포옹들>, <태양의 선>의 집필 시기, 비리파예프의 인물 구성과 소재는 일상성을 띠기 시작하는데, 인물 각자의 이야기에 드러난 결핍이 인물 모두의 동질감을 부각하여 일종의 체호프적인 분위기가 형성된다. 덧붙여, 비리파예프의 최근작 , <인터뷰 S_FBP 4408>, <이란 컨퍼런스> 등은 인물들이 인터뷰이와 인터뷰어, 컨퍼런스 참석자들로 구성되는 공통점을 보이는데, 배우들이 등장인물로서가 아니라 동시대인으로서 직접 관객과 대면하면서 소통을 주도한다. 현대의 관객들이 극장에 온 것은 셰익스피어의 햄릿을 보러 온 것이 아니라 동시대인으로서의 작가나 배우가 하는 이야기를 듣기 위함이라는 비리파예프의 혜안이 온갖 매체의 향연 속에서 잊지 말아야 할 연극의 본질에 대한 자각을 일깨운다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the narrative structure and the narrator-character's feature of Ivan Vyrypaev's drama as a part of a wide-ranging attempt to explain characteristics of Novaya drama, which has at its core the problem of the construction of the narrative self and the restoration of identity. Vyrypaev's early plays, including , , and , represent the mental wanderings of modern people through the provocative subjects, intermittent scene changes, and the narrator-character's fast rap-text. These works reveal the situation of mental wandering and existential crisis of modern people who are allowed all pleasures. In his later works, in the case of , , , , and , the composition of the characters, the subject matter, and the situation begin to take on an ordinary, usual feature, while at the same time, relationships with others and their inability to communicate are presented as main topics. And finally the narrator-characters of Vyrypaev’s recent works, , , and are composed of characters such as interviewers, interviewees, and conference attendees, so that the theater is presented as a place for contemporary encounters that includes the audience. Vyrypaev’s insight that modern audiences come to the theater not to see Shakespeare’s Hamlet, but to listen to the stories of their contemporary writers and actors awakens the perception of the essence of the theatre that should not be forgotten in the feast of various media.
