미술감상교육에서 생성형 AI의 활용가능성

국문 초록

최근 다양한 생성형 AI가 상용화되고 있다. 인공지능에 대한 우려 섞인 의견도 많지만, 교육에 활용할하기 위한 노력도 이루어지고 있다. 이미지 생산에서는 미드저니와 같은 생성형 AI가 활용되고 있으며, 사회적인 공론도 일어나고 있다. 또한 미술감상교육에서는 기존의 감상문을 쓰는 방식을 ChatGPT와 같은 언어 생성형 AI를 통하여 활용할 수도 있을 것이다. 이에 본 고에서는 비교적 정보가 적은 한국의 전통 채색화인 <일월오봉도>에 대한 감상문을 작성하는 것에 적용해보았다. ChatGPT는 분석 대상 작품에 대한 잘못된 정보를 바탕으로 감상문을 작성하였다. 질문에 주는 정보가 적을수록, 거짓된 글을 작성하였다. 반면 Bard와 Bing은 각기 연관되는 검색엔진을 활용하여 보다 정확한 정보를 바탕으로 답을 하였다. 그리고 질문의 방향이 구체적일수록 이에 맞는 글을 작성하였다. 거짓된 정보를 제공하거나 근거가 부족한 감상을 적는 등의 한계가 분명했다. 하지만 검색과 병행이 되고 보다 많은 정보가 축적될 경우 앞으로 정확한 정보를 바탕으로 한 글을 쓸 수 있을 것이라 생각한다. 이에 미술감상교육에 있어서는 감상문 작성에 초점을 두는 것이 아니라, 생성형 AI가 찾고 정리한 내용을 바탕으로 비평적인 감상교육을 하는 것이 가능할 것이다.

영문 초록

Recently, a variety of generative AIs have been commercialized. There are many concerns about AI, but there are also efforts to use it in education. Generative AIs such as Midjourney are being used to produce images, and there is also public discussion about this. In addition, in art appreciation education, the conventional method of writing appreciation essays can be utilized through language-generating AIs such as ChatGPT. In this article, we applied this to the writing of an appreciation essay on the Korean traditional Chaesekhwa , which has relatively little information. ChatGPT wrote an appreciation essay based on incorrect information about the work being analyzed. The less information it provided in the question, the falser writing it wrote. On the other hand, Bard and Bing used the search engines that were associated with each other to answer with more accurate information. As a result, the more specific the direction of the question, the more relevant the writing was. There were clear limitations, such as providing false information or writing an appreciation with insufficient evidence. However, I think that in the future, we will be able to write a text based on accurate information if it is done in parallel with the search and more information is accumulated. Accordingly, in art appreciation education, it will be possible to do critical appreciation education based on the contents that the generative AI has found and organized, rather than focusing on writing appreciation essays.
