국문 초록

본고의 목적은 일의 신학적 관점에서 한국교회의 회복을 위한 실천적 제안들을 제시하는 데 있다. 그동안 한국교회의 성장과 둔화에 대한 요인들은 주로 교회의 공과(功過)의 관점에서 파악되는 경향을 보여주었다. 그러나 이러한 관점은 이백만 명을 넘어가는 가나안의 수와 엔데믹 이후 미복귀 교인이 30%에 달할 수 있는 상황에 대한 충분한 설명이 되지 못한다. 본고는 한국교회의 성장 둔화 요인 중 가장 중요한 것으로 ‘신앙과 삶의 일치에 대한 성경적 가르침의 부재’를 전제한다. 빠르게 변화하는 한국사회 속에서 교회는 삶에 필수적인 현대의 이슈들을 개혁주의적 교리들과 연결시키지 못했고 결과적으로 성도들은 세속적 가치관으로 삶을 주장하기에 이르렀다. 많은 성도들이 삶에서, 특히 가장 많은 시간을 보내는 일터에서 구원의 기쁨이 복음의 능력으로 확장되는 경험을 하지 못하고 있다. 한국사회가탈종교화 시대에 들어서며 일터는 복음을 증거하는 중요한 통로로 그 중요성이 날로 커지고 있다. 따라서 본고는 일의 신학에 근거하여 한국교회가 위기를 극복하고 회복할 수 있도록 교회에서 실천할 수 있는 일터사역 교육과 훈련, 신학교의 일터사역 과정 신설, 교회와 일터의 상생 사역 등을 제언한다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to provide practical proposals for revitalizing the Korean church from a theological perspective on work. Factors related to the church’s growth and stagnation have primarily been analyzed based on its merits and demerits, which fails to sufficiently explain the current situation characterized by over one million unchurched people and a 30% proportion of non-returning church members after the pandemic. The study identifies the lack of biblical teachings on the congruence of faith and life as the most significant factor contributing to the stagnation of the Korean church’s growth. The church has not effectively connected essential contemporary issues with Reformation doctrines, leading believers to embrace secular values. As a result, many believers fail to experience the expanding joy of salvation through the power of the gospel in their lives, especially in their workplaces. As Korean society enters an era of de-religionization, the workplace’s importance as a channel for witnessing the gospel increases. Therefore, based on the theology of work, this paper proposes practical suggestions for the Korean church to overcome its challenges and foster revitalization. These suggestions encompass the education and training of workplace ministry within the church, the establishment of workplace ministry courses in theological schools, and the promotion of collaborative cooperation between the church and the workplace.
