국문 초록

다크투어리즘은 죽음, 재난, 고통, 폭력, 공포와 관련된 관광목적지를 방문하는 현상으로 독특한 관광경험을 제공한다. 다크투어리즘에서 스토리텔링을 통해 생성된 몰입경험이 최적의 관광경험을 제공하여 관광행동에 영향을 미친다. 방문객의 거주지역에 따른 집단간의 차이를 이해하면 관광 콘텐츠를 개발하고 관광 진흥 전략을 수립하는 데에 기여할 수 있다. 본 연구는 다크투어리즘 스토리텔링, 몰입경험, 재방문의도 간의 인과관계를 실증적으로 분석하였으며 방문객의 거주지역에 따른 집단간의 차이를 검증하였다. 중국 침화일군 난징 대학살 조난동포 기념관을 방문한 경험이 있는 중국 국적 관광객들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 수집된 254부 유효한 설문지를 사용하여 구조방정식모델을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 첫째, 다크투어리즘 스토리텔링은 정서성, 이해용이성, 교육성 3개 구성요인이 도출되었다. 둘째, 다크투어리즘 스토리텔링이 몰입경험에 유의한 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 몰입경험이 재방문의도에 유의한 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다크투어리즘 스토리텔링과 몰입경험의 관계에서 방문객의 거주지역에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것이 검증되었다. 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 다크투어리즘 발전에 대한 이론적 및 실무적 시사점을 제기하며 다크투어리즘 관광목적지의 재방문 의사결정에 중요한 기초자료를 제공할 것이다.

영문 초록

Dark tourism is the phenomenon of traveling to sites associated with death, disaster, suffering, violence and terror, and provides tourists with unique tourist experiences. Flow experience generated through storytelling in dark tourism provides optimal tourist experiences and influences tourist behaviors. Understanding the group differences based on the residential areas of visitors contributes to the development of tourism content and tourism promotion strategies. This study aimed to examine the structural relationships among dark tourism storytelling, flow experience and revisit intention, and group difference verification was conducted based on the residential areas of visitors. Chinese tourists who visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, China were selected as the survey objects. A total of 254 valid questionnaires were empirically analyzed using structural equation modeling. Firstly, dark tourism storytelling consists of three crucial attributes: emotionality, understandability and educability. Secondly, this research confirmed the significant positive effect of dark tourism storytelling on flow experience and the significant positive effect of flow experience on revisit intention. Thirdly, it was significantly different depending on the residential areas of visitors in the causal relationships between dark tourism storytelling and flow experience. Based on the findings, this study raises theoretical and practical implications for the development of dark tourism and provides an important basis for decision-making to revisit dark tourism destinations.
