사건론과 민중신학의 예수역사학

이제까지 예수역사학은 예수어록(Q)을 제1사료로 하는 연구와 마가복음(Mk)를 제1사료로 하는 연구로 양분되어 왔다. 이 연구들은 각각 ‘예수 말’과 ‘예수 사건’에 초점을 두면서 진행되었다. 그러나 19세기 말 이후 근대역사학의 재현의 위기로 Mk는 사료로서의 위상이 심각하게 추락하였다. 그 결과 Mk 중심의 연구는 쇠락했고, Q 중심의 역사적 연구가 주류를 이루었다. 하지만 서사적 요소(시공간과 행위자적 정보 등)가 결여된 Q를 통한 연구는, 엄밀히 말하면, 역사적 해석이 불가능하다. 이런 난제 때문에 ‘예수 말’ 중심의 연구는 구속사라는 보편사적 관점으로 진행되곤 했다. 1980년 어간부터 Mk를 구술문학으로 보는 주장들이 여기저기서 제기되었다. 이로 인하여 사건 텍스트 속의 서사적 요소들의 역사적 해석의 방법론적 가능성이 높아지게 되었다. 이중 민중신학의 사건론은 가장 주목할 만한 역사학적 가능성을 보여주었다. 하지만 민중신학은 문제제기 이상의 성과를 내지는 못했다. 이 글에서는 최근의 역사사회학의 사건사적 방법을 활용해서 Mk를 통한 예수역사학적 해석을 시도하려 한다. 특히 Mk의 사건 텍스트들을 매개하는 두 개의 연결구인 1:14와 3:6,7에서 예수역사학적 해석을 시도하고 있다.

영문 초록

The history of Jesus has thus far been divided between studies based on the sayings of Jesus (Q) and the Gospel of Mark (Mk). These studies focused on the “words of Jesus” and the “events of Jesus,” respectively. Since the end of the nineteenth century, Mk's status as a historical source has deteriorated significantly, owing to the crisis of representation in modern history. As a result, Mk-centered research declined, and Q-centered historical research became the norm. However, if the investigation is limited to Q, a historical interpretation is impossible because it lacks narrative aspects such as time, space, and agent. Due to this difficulty, studies based on the words of Jesus were frequently performed from the perspective of the “universal” history of redemption. Since 1980, scholars have seen Mk as oral literature, which has enabled them to examine the narrative aspects of the text through historical interpretation. While the event theory of Minjung theology demonstrates the most remarkable potential among them, Minjung Theology has not accomoral, minjung theology, event, eventful history, real Jesus, history of Jesus, ochlostheory of eventful history in historical sociology to understand Mark's account of historical Jesus. I highlight, in particular, the historical interpretation of Jesus in Mark 1:14 and 3:6-7 as connecting phrases that mediate Mk's event texts.
