국문 초록

본 논문에서는 TIMSS-R 국제성취수준에 따라 우리나라 학생들의 성취도를 살펴보았을 때 나타나는 특징에 대해 조사하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 살펴볼 구체적인 내용은, 첫째, TIMSS-R에서 설정한 국제성취수준 상위 10%, 상위 25%, 상위 50%, 하위 25%에 비추어 볼 때 나타나는 우리나라 학생들의 수학 성취도의 특징과 수학적 능력을 조사하는 것이다. 둘째, TIMSS-R에서 설정한 각각의 국제성취수준별 예시문항에 대한 우리나라 학생들의 정답률과 오답 유형을 교육과정과 교과서와의 관련성을 중심으로 살펴보는 것이다. 이러한 분석을 통해서 우리나라 학생들의 성취도가 미흡한 수학 주제는 어떤 것이며 그 원인은 무엇인가를 조사함으로써 수학교육에 시사점을 도출하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study intends to examine the characteristics of Korean students' mathe- matics achievement according to the TIMSS-R International Benchmarks in the relation with mathematics curriculum and text. The concrete contents of this study are as followings. First, we consider the Korean students' mathematical abilities according to the TIMSS-R international benchmarks classified into Top 10% Benchmark, Upper Quarter Benchmark, Median Benchmark, and Lower Quarter Benchmark. Second, we examine the precent correct and the error- types of Korean students on the anchor items of such benchmarks. From these examinations, we grasp the mathematical titles that Korean students showed insuffi- cient performance and lead the educational implications.
