국문 초록

이 논문은 장애에 관한 기존의 그리스도교 신학적 담론의 양상과 경향을 다루고 기존의 담론에서 나타나는 문제점을 장애학의 관점을 수용한 민중신학적 접근으로 극복할 수 있는지를 묻는다. 장애에 관한 기존의 그리스도교 신학적 담론은 장애에 대한 그리스도교 내의 부정적 전통이 성서와 그리스도교의 본뜻이 아니라는 해명에 초점을 맞추고 있었다. 또한 기존의 담론은 장애가 기존의 그리스도교 신학을 동요시킬 수 있는 가능성을 인지하고 그 가능성을 해소하려는 경향을 보이고 있었다. 이러한 경향과는 다르게 이 논문은 장애학의 관점을 수용했을 때 나타나는 존재론적 이슈에 대한 신학적 응답을 시도함으로써 장애가 그리스도교 신학의 갱신을 촉발하게 하려고 시도한다. 장애의 사회적 모델에 기반한 장애학의 논의를 수용하면 크게 상호의존에 기반한 연립(聯立)과 불구(不具)의 정치라는 존재론적 이슈가 나타난다. 상호의존에 기반하는 연립과 그에 따라 나타나는 이음새는 하느님의 현존이 나타나는 자리를 지시하며 그 자리에서 일어나는 구원은 장애인의 불구의 정치가 세상을 어떻게 바꾸어 놓을 것인가라는 질문의 답을 채워 가는 일이 된다. 그 하나의 예로 장애인의 불구의 정치로서의 장애인 열사에 대한 기억이 그리스도교 교리의 핵심 중 하나인 부활에 대한 다른 이해의 길을 터놓는 것을 들 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper deals with the aspects and trends of existing Christian theological discourses on disability and asks if the problems arising from the existing discourses can be overcome through a Minjung theological approach that embraces the perspective of disability studies. The existing Christian theological discourses on disability focus on the elucidation that the negative traditions about disability within Christianity were not the original meaning of the Bible and Christianity. In addition, the existing discourses tend to recognize the possibility that disability could destabilize existing Christian theology and remove the older incorrect interprestations. This paper attempts to trigger a renewal of Christian theology through a theological response to the ontological issues of independence as interdependence and the politics of “creep” that the discussions of disability studies based on the social model of disability bring up. Independence as interdependence and the seams that result from independence as interdependence indicate the place where God’s existence appears. The salvation that takes place gives an answer to the question of how the politics of “creep” will change the world. One example of this is that the memory of disabled martyrs opens the way for another understanding of the resurrection, a core of Christian doctrine.
