레오나르도 보프의 ‘해방의 그리스도론’ 연구

국문 초록

본 논문은 라틴아메리카의 대표적인 해방신학자 레오나르도 보프의 저서 『해방자 예수 그리스도』를 중심으로 그의 그리스도론을 살펴보는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 그리스도론은 그리스도교의 토대인 예수 그리스도가 누구인지에 대해서 탐구하는 것을 목표로 삼는다. 보프의 그리스도론은 사회·역사적인 관점에서 논의된다. 보프에 따르면, 해방신학적 관점에서 그리스도론을 말한다는 것은 라틴아메리카의 현실과 관련하여 그리스도론을 탐구하는 것을 의미한다. 본 논문의 중심부인 제2장에서는 보프가 제시하는 그리스도론의 개요를 제시한다. 보프는 그리스도의 신성과 인성을 동시에 강조하는 전통 그리스도론을 받아들이면서도, 역사적 예수의 인간적인 측면을 강조하고자 한다. 그리스도와 하나님의 아들로 고백되기 이전에 그는 한 사람의 인간이었다는 것이다. 보프는 라틴아메리카 사람들이 직면해 있는 비인간적인 상황의 신학적 대답으로 그리스도의 의미를 총체적 해방자로 규정한다. 그런 다음 예수 그리스도가 어떻게 해방자가 되는지 성서의 본문을 중심으로 규명하고자 한다. 여기서 보프는 예수의 신성보다는 먼저 예수의 인성에 초점을 맞추어 예수를 한 인간으로 파악하고자 하며, 예수가 선포한 하나님 나라라는 개념과 그것의 구체적인 실현인 해방 프락시스를 통해 예수 그리스도를 해방자로 파악하고자 한다. 결론에서는 한국적 상황에서 바람직한 그리스도론을 정립하는 과제와 관련하여 보프의 그리스도론이 주는 통찰을 제시한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to study Leonardo Boff’s Christology. Christology is the most important theme in theological studies. In other words, Christology is regarded as a central part of Christian theology. Leonardo Boff is one of the leading theologians in Latin American liberation theology. Boff’s liberation theology uses a socio-historical perspective. Boff emphasizes the actual circumstances of Latin America where he has been living. Boff defines the biggest problem of Latin America as poverty, analyzing concretely the social, political, and economic situation that the people are faced with in Latin America. According to him, liberation is the only proper concept to solve a problem of poverty. Liberation theology, emerging out of such a situation, has as its primary task the liberation of the people in Latin America. Thus, it is natural that Jesus Christ as a liberator is considered to be the core concept in liberation theology. It is a Christological response to the Latin American situation. Boff presents from biblical texts why Jesus Christ is a total liberator who liberates the poor, the oppressed, and the marginalized. He focuses on Jesus as a human person rather than a divine person. Above all, he understands Jesus Christ as a liberator through the concept of the Kingdom of God which he proclaimed, and the liberation praxis which was the concrete process of the Kingdom of God. In this regard, he explains important meanings of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. In conclusion, I summarize what we have discussed in this article, pointing out significances and limitations of Boff’s liberation Christology. Lastly, I attempt to provide some suggestions for making a desirable Christology in the Korean context.
