삼위일체와 평화: ‘정의로운 평화’에 관한 삼위일체신학적 고찰

국문 초록

평화는 인류의 역사에서 및 교회의 역사에서 가장 중요한 주제이며, 또한 오랫동안 남북으로 분단되어 온 한반도에서도 가장 중요한 주제이다. 평화에 관한 논의에서는 그동안 성전(holy war), 정의로운 전쟁/정당 전쟁(just war), 평화주의(pacificsm) 등등의 입장이 제시되어 왔다. 그러나 최근에는 ‘정의로운 평화’(just peace)에 관한 논의가 증대되고 있다. 20세기 후반 이후로 세계교회협의회(World Council of Churches, WCC)를 중심으로 ‘정의로운 평화’(just peace) 개념이 제시되어 논의되고 있다. 구체적으로 이 개념은 2011년 5월 17일부터 25일까지 자메이카 킹스턴에서 개최된 세계 에큐메니칼 평화회의(International Ecumenical Peace Convocation, IEPC)에서 「정의로운 평화에 대한 에큐메니컬 선언」(An Ecumenical Call to Just Peace)을 통해 분명하게 발표되었다. 이 문서에 대한 해설서로서 성서적, 신학적, 윤리적 성찰이 담긴 『정의로운 평화 동행』 (Just Peace Companion)이 함께 출판되었다. 본 논문은 세계교회협의회의 「정의로운 평화에 대한 에큐메니컬 선언」에서 분명하게 드러난 ‘정의로운 평화’ 개념을 다루되 삼위일체신학적 관점에서 고찰한다. 이를 위해 이 문서의 해설서인 『정의로운 평화 동행』에서 드러난 삼위일체 하나님에 대한 이해를 분석하고 비판한다. 이를 통해 본 논문은 ‘정의로운 평화’ 개념은 삼위일체신학적 관점에서 잘 이해될 수 있지만, 그럼에도 불구하고 『정의로운 평화 동행』에서 ‘정의로 운평화’ 개념과 삼위일체신학과 사이의 연관성이 충분히 전개되지 못하고 있음을 주장한다. 본 논문의 이러한 작업은 ‘정의로운 평화’ 개념을 삼위일체신학적 관점으로 더 충분히 전개하도록 도전을 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 한국 사회 및 한국 교회에서의 평화 또는 평화통일에 관한 담론을 한층 더 넓고 다양하고 풍성하게 만들어 줄 것이라고 기대한다. 그리고 본 논문의 작업을 통해 앞으로 삼위일체신학적으로 더 충분하게 전개되고 발전되는 ‘정의로운 평화’의 신학이 제시되어 세계 사회와 교회를 섬길 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Peace is the most important theme in human history and in church history, and it is also the most important theme in the Korean Peninsula, which has been divided into North and South Korea for a long time. Within the discussion on peace, there have been positions such as holy war, just war, pacifism, and so on. However, a position on ‘just peace’ is recently increasing. Since the second half of the 20th century, the concept of ‘just peace’ has been proposed and discussed around the World Council of Churches (WCC). Specifically, this concept was introduced in An Ecumenical Call to Just Peace at the International Ecumenical Peace Convocation (IEPC) held in Kingston, Jamaica from May 17 to 25, 2011. And the concept was clearly elaborated through its commentary, Just Peace Companion which contains the biblical, theological, and ethical reflections on the idea. This paper examines the concept of ‘just peace’, which was clearly manifested in the World Council of Churches, but from the perspective of a trinitarian theology. For this goal this paper analyzes and criticizes the understanding of the triune God within the Just Peace Companion. Through this work, this paper suggests that the concept of ‘just peace’ can be well understood from the perspective of a trinitarian theology, but nevertheless, the connection between the concept of ‘just peace’ and trinitarian theology is not sufficiently developed in Just Peace Companion. Through the work of this paper it is expected that discourse on peace or peaceful reunification in the society and church of Korea would be wider, richer and more diverse. And it is also expected that a trinitarian theology of ‘just peace’ could be more fully developed in the future to serve world society and the world church.
