교육과정 개정에 따른 학교단위 수학 성취 수준의 변화

국문 초록

본 연구는 2009년부터 2019년까지 국가수준 학업성취도 평가 자료를 이용하여, 2007, 2009년 개정 수학과 교육과정이 적용된과정에서 학교 수준에서 학생 수학 성취도의 변화를 분석하였다. 구간별 선형회귀분석(Segmented Linear Regression)을적용한 결과, 2007년 개정 교육과정이 적용된 시기에는 중학교 3학년과 고등학교 2학년에서 기초학력이나 기초학력미달인학생의 비율이 지속해서 감소하였지만, 2009년 개정 교육과정이 적용된 후부터는 그 비율이 점점 증가함을 확인하였다. 이러한결과를 바탕으로, 과거 교육과정 적용에 따른 학생 성취도 결과에 대한 재고가 필요하다. 특히, 교사교육, 평가, 교과서 개발 등을종합적으로 반영한 현재 및 차기 교육과정의 성공적인 적용 방안을 고려할 것을 제안한다.

영문 초록

This study examined changes in mathematics achievement at the school level following the implementation of the revised curricula in 2007 and 2009. Using data from the National Assessment of Educational Achievement collected during 2009-2019, segmented linear regression models were applied to analyze the achievements of 9th- and 11thgraders. Breakpoints corresponding to the transition from the 2007 revision to the 2009 revision were identified in the data patterns for both grade levels. The proportion of students with below-basic and basic achievement levels in each grade decreased significantly during the implementation of the 2007 revision but increased significantly following the implementation of the 2009 revision. These findings suggest the necessity to reflect on and investigate the impacts of past curriculum revisions on students’ achievement to inform the successful implementation of current curricula in mathematics education.
