장애위험 영·유아 통합보육에 대한 일반보육교사의 인식 및 태도에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애위험 영·유아 통합보육에 대한 일반 어린이집 보육교사의 전반적인 인식과 수용태도 및 보육현황을 파악하고자 하였다. 그 결과를 바탕으로 장애위험 영·유아도 장애 영·유아와 같이 특수교육서비스를 지원받을 수 있도록 제도와 정책적 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 부산시 일반 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 일반보육교사 350명을 대상으로 통합보육의 인식과 수용태도를 조사하였다. 그 결과 장애영·유아를 지도해 본 경험이 있는 일반 보육교사는 32.6%, 장애여부가 판명되지 않았으나 전반적인 발달이 정상적인 발달수준에 이르지 못한 장애위험 영·유아를 지도해 본적이 있는 일반 보육교사는 62.9%로 높게 조사되었다. 그리고 장애위험 영·유아 통합보육의 긍정적인 효과가 많은 것으로 인식하고 수용태도 또한 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 장애위험 영·유아 통합보육에 대한 일반 어린이집 보육교사의 지원방안에 대한 의견으로는 현재 교사 1인당 법정 보육인원 수가 많은 것으로 인식하고 있으며, 통합보육 시 교육프로그램에 대한 지원의 필요성을 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 장애위험 영·유아 통합보육을 위한 개별화된 보육프로그램의 개발과 교사연수, 행정적 지원이 강화되어야 함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 장애위험 영·유아 통합보육의 효과를 극대화하기 위한 정책적 제언을 위해 국내 최초로 장애위험 영·유아에 대한 개념을 적용하였으며, 통합보육의 실제 담당자인 일반보육교사의 인식과 태도를 조사하고, 통합보육에 대한 지원방안에 관한 의견을 조사하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine how daycare teachers serving at the nursery are perceiving the inclusive daycare of infants or young children with disability risks, which attitude those teachers are having about the acceptance of such care and how they have been actually providing day care at their work, ultimately making suggestions for institutions or polices that would ensure the implementation of special education services whose beneficiaries are infants or young children who have disability risks as well as disabilities. For the purpose, the study selected as its participants and surveyed 350 daycare teachers working for nurseries located in Busan Metropolitan City. Of the participants, 32.6% have ever experienced educating infants or young children with disabilities. While, the remaining 62.9% have had experiences in instructing infants or young children with disability risks who are not diagnosed with disability, but less wholly developmental than normal. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. Above all, teachers surveyed here were perceiving that the inclusive daycare of infants or young children with disability risks would have a highly positive effect so that they are more willing to accept such daycare. Meanwhile, those teachers responded that the number of infants and young children for whom they are legally required to provide daycare services are higher than it should be. As far as supportive institutions or policies are concerned, in a similar vein, the respondents said that if the inclusive daycare of infants or young children with disability risks is actually put into practice, it would need to be supported by more relevant education programs. These findings suggest that the daycare of infants or young children in an inclusive way should be more strongly propped by appropriate actions for inclusive daycare such as developing individualized daycare programs, training teachers and providing administrative supports. This study is meaningful in two respects. One is that it conceptualized infants or young children with disability risks for the first time in Korea in order to suggest policies that would expect to maximize the effect of inclusive daycare as described above. The other is that the research looked into the perception and attitude of teachers as would-be actual practitioners of inclusive daycare and their opinions about what kinds of supports should be provided for an effective and proper implementation of such daycare.
