사회복지관에서 바라 본 다문화수용성에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 사회복지 관점에서 양적연구와 질적연구를 통해 대한민국의 다문화수용성과 대구광역시 달서구 신당동의 다문화수용성을 비교하고, 이를 통해 사회복지관에서 지역사회 현실에 맞는 다문화 사업을 진행하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 양적연구를 위해 2019년 7월 약 한달 간 신당동 지역주민 300명을 대상으로 설문지를 활용한 면접조사를 진행하였으며, 질적연구를 위해 대구광역시 신당동 지역에서 다문화사업을 4년 이상 진행한 실무자를 대상으로 FGI를 진행하였다. 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 양적연구의 결과 대구광역시 달서구 신당동의 다문화수용성이 전국의 다문화수용성에 비해 높게 나타났다. 이는 다문화수용성에 대한 각 세부 영역에서도 동일하게 나타났으며, 신당동 주민들이 다른 지역의 주민들에 비해 다문화주민에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 형성하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 질적연구의 결과 신당동에 거주하는 다문화주민들의 경우에서도 다른 지역과 마찬가지로 한국사회 적응문제, 다문화 2세대에 대한 보호문제 등 여러 가지 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 이는 다문화주민들이 겪는 보편적인 어려움들이지만 저소득층이 밀집한 지역에서는 이러한 현상들이 더욱 두드러지게 나타나고 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 사회복지관에서 지역사회의 특성을 반영한 다문화수용성 증진 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하는 데 정보를 제공 할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 사회복지 및 다문화기관, 각계 전문기관에서 후속연구가 지속된다면 다문화사회를 앞두고 있는 현 시점에서 다문화주민의 한국 정착뿐만 아니라 나아가 다문화사회를 준비할 수 있는 토대를 쌓아가게 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to compare the multicultural acceptability of the whole country and Sindang-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu by conducting quantitative and qualitative research, in terms of social welfare. on this basis, provide basic data for social welfare centers to carry out multicultural projects tailored to the reality of the community. For quantitative research, 300 local residents of Sindang-dong were interviewed for a month in July 2019. For qualitative research, FGI was conducted for practitioners who had conducted multicultural projects in Sindang-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu for more than four years. The analysis results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of quantitative research, multicultural acceptability in Sindang-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu was higher than the whole country. This was the same in each detailed area of multicultural acceptability, and it can be seen that Sindang-dong residents form a positive perception of multicultural residents compared to those in other regions. Second, as a result of qualitative research, multicultural residents living in Sindang-dong were suffering from various difficulties, such as adapting to Korean society, and protection of the second generation of multicultural families, just like other regions. This is a common difficulty faced by multicultural residents, but these phenomenon were more pronounced in areas where low-income families were concentrated. The results of this study could provide information on the development and application of multicultural acceptability Improvement programs that reflect the characteristics of the community in social welfare centers. In addition, if follow-up research continues by social welfare and multiculturalism, specialized institutions in various fields, at this point of set to be multicultural society, it will pave the way for prepare for multicultural society as well as multicultural residents to settle in Korea.
