뉴노멀 시대의 치유 설교 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 팬데믹 시대를 보내며 제기되었던 대면/비대면 예배와 설교에 대한 논의를 정의하고, 소위 코로나 블루, 코로나 레드, 코로나 블랙과 같이 심리적 감염에 노출되어 치유가 필요한 회중을 대상으로 어떤 설교를 선포해야 할 것인가라는 문제에서 시작한다. 성경에서 ‘치유’는 육체적 질병과 정신적 질병 그리고 축귀 사역까지 뜻하며 광범위하게 사용된다. 필자는 그중에서도 영적인 치유를 중심으로, 설교학의 관점에서 이에 대한 논의를 전개해 나가게 될 것이다. 실천신학에서는 목회 상담영역에서 상담 설교를 주창하였고, 설교학에서는 해리 에머슨 포스딕이 삶의 정황/문제 해결식 설교의 중요성을 강력하게 주장하였다. 다시 말해서, 설교자는 본문의 해석자이면서 회중의 해석자이어야만 한다는 것이다. 이러한 회중과의 공감을 통한 치유 설교는 설교의 정의를 살펴보면 이미 존재하고 있었음을 알게 된다. 따라서, 설교학에서의 치유 설교는 엄밀히 말해서 새롭게 나타났다기보다는 처음부터 존재하였으며, 시대적 변화에 따라 재발견된 것이라고 할 수 있다. 이는 치유 설교의 필요성이 대두되고 있는 시대적 변화에 대한 남다른 통찰력과 안목을 가진 설교자 스스로 올바른 자기 정체성 확립과 실천이 전제되지 않으면 안 될 것이다. 필자는 이러한 당위성을 기반으로 하여, 치유 설교에 대한 뉴노멀을 계속 정립해 나가야 할 설교자와 회중의 변화에 대해 고찰하고 나아가 이에 대한 올바른 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study defines the discussion of in-person/on-line liturgy and preaching raised during the time of the recent pandemic. It begins with the issue of the type of preaching required to address a population exposed to psychological infections of the so-called ‘corona blue,’ ‘corona red,’ and ‘corona black.’ In the Bible, ‘healing’ is used widely to mean the treatment of physical illness, psychological illness, and even spiritual exorcism. Among them, this study focuses on the spiritual aspect of healing and proceeds with a discussion from the perspective of homiletics. The field of practical theology has been advocating for counseling preaching, and homiletics has argued for the importance of life-situation or problem-solving preaching as exemplified by Harry Emerson Fosdick. In other words, preachers must be interpreters of the biblical text as well as of their congregation. This type of healing preaching through empathy with congregants exists within the definition of preaching. Therefore, healing preaching in homiletics is, in a strict sense, a pre-existing, rather than recently discovered, type of preaching. Thus, healing preaching should be under the premise of preacher, committed to practice and the proper establishment of the preacher’s identity, with unique insight and discernment of the change of the times demanding the need of healing preaching. Based on the appropriateness of this approach in the current context, the study, in consideration of healing preaching, carefully contemplates the changes in congregations and preachers who must continue to adapt in the new normal, and makes further appropriate suggestions.
