국문 초록

오늘날 김정일의 민족공조론이 북한의 절대적인 통일·대남논리로 작용하고 있다는 문제인식 하에, 본 연구는 김정일의 민족공조론이 지닌 함의를 분석하는 데에 연구목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 1980년대 이후부터 현재까지 북한의 민족개념은 마르크스주의(특히 스탈린주의)적 사회주의의 민족개념구도에서 완전히 전환된 김일성의 주체사상(김일성주의)적 북한식(우리식) 사회주의의 민족개념, 즉 민족 또는 민족주의가 계급에 우선 시·강조되는 의미로서의 ‘계급<민족’의 개념구도 하에서 노동계급의 혁명투쟁과 민족의 자주성옹호투쟁을 위한 도구적 관점으로 전환되었으나, 이 개념의 규정은 김일성의 주체사상(김일성주의)에 토대한 ‘민족의 자주성(자주권)’ 의미를 포함한 개념으로서 이해되어야 한다고 평가했다. 둘째, 2000년 ‘6.15남북공선언’을 통해 등장한 민족공조론의 내용과 특징에 담겨져 있는 함의적 평가로는, 한 마디로 김정일의 민족공조론이 ‘민족’의 개념을 앞세우고 한편으로는 북한의 전략적·궁극적 목표인 한반도의 공산화(사회주의화)통일노선을 변함 없이 추구하고 있는 통일론이고, 다른 한편으로는 점차 시대의 변화에 따라 전술적·실리적 목표인 적극적 남북관계개선의 접근노선을 담고 있는 통일론이다. 결론적으로, 김정일의 민족공조론에 담긴 함의에 근거해 보면, 북한의 민족과 민족주의 개념은 대내체제통합의 논리, 대남관계 접근의 논리 차원에서 조국통일론과 결합되어 향후 통치·이념화되어 정치·이념적 기제로 ‘김일성민족’과 ‘김일성민족주의’의 개념화로 진행될 것이라고 전망하였다.

영문 초록

The research objective of this thesis is to evaluate and analyze the contents of Minjok Kongjo lron(national cooperation or cooperation between the North and South Korean compatriots) for the whole Korea's unification. The North Korea leaders(Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-Il) took advantage of nation and nationalism as a instrument for sustaining their control systems and for uniting the whole Korea under their sway. Particularly, Kim Jong-Il's Chokuk Tongil Iron(theory of the whole Korea's unification) of the 2000s was Minjok Kongjo lron under the banner of ‘Uri(Chosun) Minjok Che’il Ideology'(our nation first ideology) and Minjok Taedangy lron(the Great National Unity Theory) for Chokuk Tongil Iron. This theories are based on ‘nation and nationalism’ of Juche Ideology. Namely, the ‘nation and nationalism’ resulting from a systematized Juche Ideology and a personal dictatorship system by Su-Ryung(absolute ruler) stste created Kim Il-sung Minjok(Kim Il-sung Nation). Particularly, Kim Jong-Il's theory about the unification of the Korean peninsula have been many changes in 2000s. This is Minjok Kongjo lron. A phrase widely used in the North is Minjok Kongjo Iron after the June 15 [2000] joint declaration, which means all problems regarding Koreans should be solved only through cooperation between Koreans themselves. Calling on the South Korean people to join hands with their North Korean compatriots, the editorial asserts that the structure of confrontation on the peninsula must pit the Korean people against the United States. The appeal for Minjok Kongjo lron came when the North renewed its campaign for the reunification of the two Koreas after the historic inter-Korean summit in June 2000. Kim Jong-Il needs to get with the times(to follow the general trend), post-Cold War. Because he have the theory of the unification with which to survive his regime, a strong will to live independently, and the June 15 [2000] joint declaration that serves as a milestone for unity and reunification. North Korea's attempt to communize the whole Korea was destined for failure. His Minjok Kongjo lron to Reunifying the Korean Peninsula can be summed up in a single word : duplicity. On the one hand, it's kind of, he is trying to communize the whole Korea for building of ‘One Commuist, on the other hand he has enthusiastically logged on to the cooperation and interchange between south and north Korea with purposes in order to get out of the economic difficulties. In conclusion, Kim Jong-Il' theories about the unification has not renounced its desire to communize the South.
