재외동포 대상 한국어교육 연구 동향 분석과 제언

국문 초록

이 논문은 재외동포를 대상으로 하는 한국어교육의 연구 동향을 분석하고 앞으로의 연구 방향에 대해 제언하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한국교육학술정보원(RISS) 검색을 토대로 다양한 교차검토 방식을 통해 총 200편의 대상 자료를 수집하고 이를 연도별·유형별, 주제별, 지역별 기준으로 분류하여 분석하였다. 초기 연구는 주로 각 지역별 재외동포 한국어교육의 현황과 과제를 거시적 관점에서 논하는 주제가 주로 다루어졌으며 2000년 이후 보다 다양한 주제의 연구 성과가 축적되었다. 이 연구들은 재외동포 한국어교육을 위한 실질적인 정책의 수립에도 충실한 근거를 제공했다고 평가할 수 있다. 향후 재외동포 한국어교육의 새로운 전기를 마련하기 위한 국내외 연구자들의 담론 형성의 장이 필요하다. 이를 통해 재외동포 한국어교육을 위한 교육철학을 재정립이 가능해 질 것이다. 또한 현지 실정에 근거한 실증적이고 구체적인 질적 연구가 요구되며 이를 위한 정부 차원의 정책적·재정적 지원과 노력이 필요하다. 아울러 국내에 거주하는 재외동포의 언어문제에 대한 연구의 필요성도 제기된다.

영문 초록

This study has as an objective to analyze research trends of Korean language education for overseas Koreans and to propose a direction for future research. Through a method of various cross-checking based on Korea Education and Research Information Service (RISS), this research collected a total of 200 data for the purpose and categorized by year, type, theme and region for analyses. The early research mostly deals with themes in which the current status quo and homework of Korean language education for overseas Koreans in each region via macroscopic view points and accumulates research results on the themes which are more varied that those researched after 2000. It can be evaluated that these researches provided a substantial basis for establishing practical policies for Korean language education for overseas Koreans. To provide new opportunities for Korean language education for overseas Koreans in the future, a new place of discourses for researchers in Korea and abroad will be needed. Through this, the reestablishment of educational philosophy for Korean language education for overseas Koreans will be possible. Also, objective and detailed qualitative research based on local situations will be needed, and in order to implement this, support and effort, political and financial, at the governmental level will be needed. In addition, a need for research on language issues of overseas Koreans living in Korea is suggested.
