국문 초록

이 연구는 의사소통론적 관점에서 배려의 의미를 고찰하고, 대화에서 실현되는 배려의 자질을 탐구한 것이다. 의사소통에서 배려의 의미는 ‘대화 참여자 간의 상호 존중을 전제로 상대방의 말을 공감적으로 수용하며 자신의 마음을 진실 되게 드러내는 것으로, 이는 소통의 제반 상황에 대한 총체적 이해를 기반으로 하여 성찰하는 과정’으로 개념화하였다. 그리고 대화에서 실현되는 배려의 자질로는 인식 차원에서 ‘상호 존중하기’, 표현 차원에서 ‘진실된 말하기’, 수용 차원에서 ‘공감적 경청하기’, 상황 차원에서 ‘관계적 사고하기’를 논의하였다. 대화에서 네 가지 배려의 자질은 상호 독립적인 것이 아니라 서로 유기적인 관계를 맺을 때 진정한 배려가 소통될 수 있다. 이러한 배려는 의사소통 목표 달성을 위한 수단이 아니라 의사소통의 궁극적인 목표이자 지향점이다. 따라서 진정한 배려의 소통은 타인과의 관계 발전은 물론 의사소통 문화를 개선하고 나아가 우리의 삶을 질적으로 변화시키는 원동력이 될 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was to explore the meaning and features of consideration from the perspective of communication. Meaning of consideration in the context of communication was conceptualized as follows：Consideration is the premise of mutual respect of the participants in the conversation, empathic listening to other’s opinions, and revealing authenticity of own’s mind. And all this is done in a reflective thinking process based on a holistic understanding of the overall situation of communication. Consideration features that are realized in conversation, mutual respect(cognition dimension) and authentic speaking (expression dimension), empathic listening(accept dimension), relational thinking(situation dimension). The four features consideration is communicating a ‘real consideration’ should establish an organic relationship to each other. Consideration is the ultimate goal and orientation of communication rather than a means of communication. Real consideration of communication will bring a qualitative change in our lives as well as the improvement of relations with others, as well as communication culture.
