학교문화가 초등학생의 국어적 창의성 발현에 미치는 영향에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 수직적이고 폐쇄적인 학교문화가 초등학생의 국어적 창의성에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 데 있다. 통합적 접근에 따르면 창의성의 발현에는 인지적·정의적·환경적 요소들이 복합적으로 작용하는데, 특히 창의성이 수용될 수 있는 사회문화적 환경이 중요하다. 이런 관점에서 보면 국어적창의성을 함양하기 위해 창의적인 언어사용을 허용하는 사회적 개방성이 요청된다. 그러나 우리나라의 학교 현장에는 수직적이고 폐쇄적인 학교문화가만연해있다. 이에 대전의 D초등학교 학생들을 대상으로 질적 사례 연구를 수행하여 학교문화가 국어적 창의성 발현에 미치는 영향을 탐구하였다. 연구결과, ‘국어 수업에서 나타나는 반창의성 편향’, ‘권위적이고 강압적인 소통방식’, ‘교사의 처벌이 남긴 정신적 외상’, ‘소통 채널의 부재’ 등이 국어적 창의성 발현에 부정적인 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 국어적 창의성 교육의 실효성을 높이기 위해 학교문화에 대한 교사들의 인식 제고 및 학교문화 개선이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of a vertical and closed school culture on the Korean creativity of elementary school students. In order for students to manifest their Korean creativity, an open school culture is needed. However, vertical and closed school culture is widespread in Korea. It is necessary to explore how the school culture experienced by elementary school students affects the manifestation of Korean creativity. The investigator carried out a qualitative case study with students at D Elementary School in Daejeon. The analysis results of data collected in the study show that an “anti-creativity bias in Korean lessons,” “authoritative and oppressive communication style,” “mental trauma left by the teacher’s punishment,” and “absence of a communication channel” had negative effects on the manifestation of students’ Korean creativity. There is a need to increase teachers’ awareness of Korean creativity and improve the school culture so that Korean creativity education will have greater effectiveness.
