영문 초록

This study serves as a reference for the study of Renaissance chairs by analyzing the formative characteristics of Italian armchair. The study range is 40 artifacts from 1500 to 1600. Through literature research method and the case study method, data and information visualization method, the following conclusions are drawn from the research on the form and structure of Italian armchair, materials, manufacturing technique, and decorative patterns. First of all, the armchair is rich in shape and reasonable structure. It is primarily composed of finial, backrest, seat, armrest, leg, stretcher and runner. The most prominent features are the scroll shaped finial, the rectangular seat, the turning and decorative stretcher, the quadrilateral and turning legs, and the animal paw shaped runner. At the same time, the use of ancient Roman architectural elements and classical art elements is the concentrated expression of classical art in the field of furniture design. Secondly, the diversification of materials, mainly using walnut wood, fabric, leather and metal. Especially the use of luxurious fabrics and embossed leather opens up a new chapter in furniture materials. The third is exquisite workmanship and strong creativity. Mainly used hand-carving technology, upholstery technology, turning technology and inlay technology. The comprehensive application of diverse technologies makes the furniture show unprecedented sophistication and splendor. In particular, it is no exaggeration to say that the application of Upholstery Technology has opened up a precedent for upholstery furniture. Fourth, the decorative patterns are gorgeous and the classic style is evident. The patterns of armchairs are mainly composed of plant patterns, animal patterns, geometric patterns, classical patterns and so on. The emergence of a large number of classical patterns shows the deep penetration of classical culture in the field of furniture design. These characteristic pieces of armchairs are a great help in researching the characteristics of Italian Renaissance chairs and furniture.
