염세주의와의새로운관계방식으로서니체의 아티케 비극 분석

국문 초록

불시에 지구에 출현한 COVID-19로 인하여 가속화되는 사회적 거리두기와 비대면 생활 속에서 우리의 생존조건은 점점 더 악화되고 있다. 우리에게는 이 가 혹한 현실과 어떻게 관계 맺을 것인가에 대한 성찰이 어느 때보다도 절실하다. 이는 21세기 삶과 염세주의의 관계에 대한 물음으로 재해석될 수 있다. 우리의 일상에 깊이 스며든 노래방 열풍에 이어 힙합이나 트로트 등의 열풍 현상에 나 타난 음악에 대한 욕구가 삶에 미치는 영향력을 주목해볼 필요가 있다. 도대체 음악은 우리의 삶에 어떤 힘을 지니고 있을까? 우리의 삶은 음악과 어떤 관계를 지니고 있을까? 특히 음악을 포함한 예술과 염세주의의 상관성에 대한 질문은 우리의 가혹한 삶의 원인을 진단하고 치유함으로써 인간의 고유한 생명력을 회 복하는데 중요한 시사점을 던져줄 것이다. 현존재의 가혹한 염세적 현실에 대한 예술적 관계방식으로 니체가 주목한 비 극의 정체를 분석하기 위해 논자는 그의 저작인 『비극의 탄생』에서 주목된 비극 의 새로운 유형으로서 ‘아티케 비극(attische Tragödie)’을 분석한다. 이와 같은 아티케 비극 유형에 상응하는 예술가의 정체를 논자는 ‘디오니소스적 도취의 예 술가’와 ‘아폴론적 꿈의 예술가’와 변별되는 예술가로 제시된 ‘도취와 꿈의 예술 가(Rausch- und Traumkünstler)’와 접목해본다. 이 과정에서 논자는 이와 같은 니체의 다양한 예술의 유형들과 염세주의와의 관계방식을 포착해 본다. 이 글에서 논의의 중심이 되는 새로운 비극으로서 아티케 비극과 염세주의 간 의 새로운 관계 방식을 파악하기 위하여 논자는 2장에서는 ‘그리스인과 염세주 의의 이중적 관계: 아티케 비극의 염세적 정체’를, 3장에서는 ‘그리스인의 고통에 대한 감수성과 미에 대한 감수성 그리고 아티케 비극’을, 4장에서는 ‘비극의 다의 성과 아티케 비극의 관계’를, 그리고 5장에서는 ‘아티케 비극의 탄생과 소크라테 스적 낙천주의 무대의 탄생에 의한 아티케 비극의 죽음’을 분석해본다. 논자는 이러한 분석을 위하여 1886년에 니체에 의해 『비극의 탄생』에 추가된 <자기 비 판의 시도> 속 비극의 유형과 1872년 초판부터 유지되고 있는 『비극의 탄생』의 본문 속 비극의 유형들의 차이와 공통점을 주목한다. 이로써 본 연구는 현존재로서 인간이 지니는 삶의 염세성과 이에 대한 인간의 직면 방식인 아티케 비극 속 예술가가 지니는 현재적 의미를 가늠해보고자 한 다. 나아가 이 연구는 이와 같은 비극과 염세주의 사이의 새로운 관계 방식에 대 한 아티케 비극의 분석을 기반으로 하여 진행되는 후속 연구, 즉 아티케 비극과 힙합과의 상관성에 대한 연구의 이론적 단초를 마련할 것이다.

영문 초록

The social distancing and non-face-to-face survival conditions accelerated by the sudden emergence of COVID-19 on Earth are getting worse. We are more desperate than ever to reflect on how we will relate to this harsh reality. This can be reinterpreted as a question of the relationship between 21st century life and pessimism. Following the karaoke craze that has deeply permeated our daily lives, we need to pay attention to the impact of our desire for music on hip-hop and trot phenomena. What power does music have in our lives? How does our life relate to music? In particular, the question of the correlation between art and pessimism, including music, will cast important implications for restoring the inherent vitality of humans by diagnosing and healing the causes of our harsh lives. In order to analyze the new identity of the tragedy that Nietzsche noticed as an artistic relationship to the harsh pessimistic reality of extinction, the debater analyzes ‘Attic tragedy(Attische Tragödie)’ as the type of tragedy noted in his work, “The Birth of Tragedy.” The artist's identity corresponding to this type of Attic tragedy is combined with intoxication- and dreamartist(Rausch- und Traumkünstler), who is presented as an artist distinct from the artist of the Dionysian intoxication and the artist of the Apollonian dream. In this process, the writer captures the various types of arts of Nietzsche and the way they relate to pessimism. In order to identify the new relationship between Attic tragedy and pessimism, which is the center of the discussion, the double relationship between Greek and pessimism in Chapter 2, the pessimistic identity of Attic tragedy in Chapter 3, the relationship between Attic tragedy in Chapter 4, and the birth and death of Attic tragedy in Chapter 5. For this analysis, the writer notes the differences and commonalities between the types of tragedies in “The Attempt of Self-Criticism” in 1886, and the types of tragedies in the text which have been maintained since the first edition of 1872. Thus, this study attempts to assess the pessimism of human life as being and the present meaning of the artist in the Attic tragedy, which is the way humans face it. Furthermore, this study will provide a theoretical basis for a follow-up study on the relationship between the Attic tragedy and hip-hop, based on the analysis of the Attic tragedy on the new relationship between tragedy and pessimism.
