학교시설 범죄예방 환경설계 적용 전후 안전체감도 차이 규명: 설계자와 이용자 비교

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교시설 범죄예방 환경설계(CPTED) 시뮬레이션 적용 전/후 시점에서 설계자와 이용자의 안전체감도 평가 차이를 정량적으로 규명함으로써, 이용자 측면에서 중요하게 인식되는 설계요소를 설계과정에서 합리적으로 반영하기 위한 기초 정보를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 설계자와 이용자(교직원)를 설문대상으로 구분하여 학교시설 공간영역별 CPTED 적용 전/후 범죄 안전체감도 분석 결과, 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 전/후 평균값 차이를 확인하였으며, 평균값 차이에 근거한 일부 CPTED 기법의 효과성과 우선순위는 설계자와 이용자 사이에 상이한 차이를 보였다. 구체적으로 건물외부 후미진 공간의 접근통제, 건물외부 사각지대 인위적 감시, 건물외부 주차장 영역성, 실내 화장실 유지/관리 활용성 항목의 경우, 이용자가 평가한 우선순위는 높았으나 설계자가 평가한 우선순위는 낮게 집계되었다. 이러한 평가 차이는 설계 실무영역 고유의 특성인 심미적 측면의 설계적 고려가 이용자의 활용성 측면의 요구와 상반되어 설문 결과에 반영된 것으로 해석된다. 따라서 향후 실무적 차원에서 학교시설 CPTED 성능을 보다 효율적으로 제고하기 위해서는 심미적 측면의 설계 특성에 대한 고려 이외에도 활용성 측면의 이용자 요구를 설계과정에서 반영할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to offer the basic information on the important design elements of CPTED in school which rationally represent user-oriented design process by quantitatively analyzing the difference in the pre/post evaluation of CPTED simulation between design practitioners and users. Results from field survey for the perceived safety from crime by various spatial units in school revealed the mean difference between design practitioners and users at the statistically significant level. In addition, there was a clear gap in the effectiveness and importance order of some CPTED elements between design practitioners and users. More specifically, access control to a secluded spot outside, installing CCTV in a secluded spot outside building, improving territoriality in parking areas, and reinforcing maintenance of indoor rest-room are highly ranked as an important design element among the users, while those are not among the design practitioners. Such evaluation gaps might represent design consideration on aesthetic impression of design practitioners. Therefore, design consideration on utilization, along with design consideration on aesthetic impression, should be reflected as the feedback from users in the design process for the substantial improvement of the performance of CPTED in school.
