국문 초록

오늘날 미얀마로 알려진 버마 시민들은 수십년의 군사정권에 의한 잘못된 통치로 오랫동안 힘든 피해를 당해오고 있습니다. 이 논문은 미얀마의 한 주에 해당하는 친주에서의 법제도와 여성에 대한 학대에 대해서 연구를 하였습니다. 지난 60여년 동안 미얀마의 역사를 되돌아보면 법에 의한 통치가 결여되어 있다는 것을 알 수 있습니다. 독재체제 하에서 여성들은 특히나 목소리를 낼 수 없었습니다. 제2차 세계대전 때 식민지와 점령지에서 일본군들이 강제로 여성과 소녀들을 납치했던 것과 마찬가지로 현재 미얀마 여성들의 삶은 낙엽과 같습니다. 낙엽은 가시덤불 위에 쓰러지고 가시덤불들이 낙엽을 덮치듯이 희생자들은 항상 낙엽과 같습니다. 이 논문은 미얀마 친주의 고립된 산악지대에서 군인들에 의해서 자행되고 있는 성폭력에 대한 자세한 증거들을 제시합니다. 군대는 그 지역들을 공포통치하기 위한 수단으로 강간을 활용하고 있습니다. 본 연구를 통하여 여성과 소녀들이 군대에 의해 다양한 방식으로 강간을 당하고 있는 현실을 알 수 있습니다.

영문 초록

Peoples of Burma, modern day Myanmar, have suffered long and hard under decades of military misrule in the country. This paper examines the legal system and abuse against women in Chin State, Myanmar. When we looked back throughout six decade of Myanmar’s history there is lack of ‘rule of law.’ Women were especially voiceless under directorship. Like as ago World War II, the Japanese army forcibly abducted women and girls in both in the colonies and occupied territories, women’s lives are like leaves in current day Myanmar. The leaves fall on the thorns and thorns fall on the leaves, the victim always being the leaves. This paper provides some detailed evidence of the sexual violence being committed by the Military in the isolated mountainous region of Chin state in Myanmar. The troops are using rape as a weapon to terrorize local communities. Woman and girls are being raped in various forms by the military.
