고려시대 도서지역의 기와 유통관계

국문 초록

흑산도는 중국 동남부에서 출발하여 가장 빨리 다다를 수 있는 고려의 첫 기착지이며 최단거리의 중간 거점지로써 매우 중요한 입지를 차지하고 있다. 고려시대 송나라 외교를 비롯하여 한·중·일을 연결하는 중요한 해상 관문 역할을 하였다. 흑산도에는 고려시대 관사(館舍)로 추정되는 관사터를 비롯하여 무심사지, 상라산성, 봉수대 등의 유적이 위치해 있으며, 고급 기종의 청자류, 중국자기, 동전 등도 출토되어 흑산도의 위상을 짐작해 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 흑산도 출토 기와를 중심으로 고려시대 도서지역 기와의 유통관계를 살펴보았다. 흑산도 기와의 변화상은 2시기 구분되며 1기는 명문기와가 제작·사용된 시기로 흑산도에는 지명, 연호명, 간지명, 사찰명, 관리자명 등 많은 명문와가 출토되었다. 이 중 지명은 모두 내륙지역과 관련된 명문으로 화순, 나주, 광주, 담양 등이 있다. 이 중 ‘陵城郡…’ 명문와는 화순의 옛 지명으로 흑산도뿐만 아니라, 화순지역 유적에서도 확인되며, 기와의 태토분석 결과 두 지역간 제작지의 유사성도 확인되었다. 2기는 변형 일휘문 막새 중심으로 확인되며, 일휘·당초문 암·수막새, 단판 연화문 수막새 등은 전남 내륙지역과 관련성이 확인되었다. 흑산도에서 내륙 지명의 명문와가 출토되는 이유는 섬이라는 특수성으로 자체 기와의 생산에 한계가 있었을 것으로 추정된다. 또한 지명에서 확인된 지역은 고려시대 조운제도인 조창과 관련이 있으며, 전라도 6개 조창 중 하나인 나주 해릉창의 수세구역에 해당한다. 또한 흑산도 주민들이 나주 해릉창 인근으로 이거하여 마을을 형성한 기록을 통해 화순, 담양, 광주 등에서 제작된 기와가 조창인 나주까지 운반되어 흑산도까지 이어지는 유통시스템이 구축되어 있었던 것으로 추정된다.

영문 초록

Heuksando Island is the first stop in Goryeo, which starts in southeastern China and reaches the fastest, and occupies a very important location as a mid-range hub. It served as an important maritime gateway connecting Korea, China, and Japan, including Song Dynasty diplomacy during the Goryeo Dynasty. The relics unearthed from the of government office site and A temple called Musimsa, excavated from Heuksando, are all high-quality celadon, Chinese porcelain, and roof tiles, suggesting the status of Heuksando during the Goryeo Dynasty. In this paper, the relationship between the inflow of tiles from the islands of the Goryeo Dynasty was examined, focusing on the tiles excavated from Heuksando Island. The roof tiles of Heuksando Island are divided into two periods. The first period was when prestigious tiles were produced and used, and inland places such as Hwasun, Naju, Gwangju, and Damyang were confirmed in tiles. Among them, the tile with the inscription "Nungseong-gun" is an old place name of Hwasun, and has been confirmed not only in Heuksando Island but also in the ruins of Hwasun area. One tile pattern excavated from the ruins of Jamjeong-ri, Hwasun, was also excavated from the roof tiles of the site of the government office. In addition, the similarity of the production sites between the two regions was confirmed through the analysis of the clay of roof tiles. The second period is the central period of Heuksando Island, and the shape of the roof-end tile has a hemispherical protrusion in the center, and the shape of the two rows around it is not confirmed, but only the deformed hemispherical protrusion-shaped roof-end tile is confirmed. The excavated "Ilhwamun" and "Dangchomun" set roof-end tile and "Yeonhwamun" roof-end tile have been confirmed to be related to the inland areas of Jeollanam-do. The reason why prestigious tiles with inland names were excavated in Heuksando Island is that it is estimated that there was a limit to the production of its own tiles due to the specificity of the island. In addition, the area identified in the place name is related to Jochang, a Jounje system of the Goryeo Dynasty, and is a flush area of Haereungchang, Naju, one of the six Jochangs in Jeolla-do. In addition, it is estimated that a distribution system was established in which tiles made in Hwasun, Damyang, and Gwangju were transported to Naju, where the residents of Heuksando Island moved to Haereungchang, Naju.
