인문학 수업으로서 영화교육의 사례

국문 초록

현대사회의 반성 속에 등장한 인문학은 대중문화의 총아라 할 수 있는 영화와 결합하여 영화인문학이라는 이름으로 다채로운 반향을 일으키고 있다. 영화는 당대 현실이 구체적으로 반영되어 있으며, 직접적으로 관객과 소통하고자 노력한다. 이런 특성 때문에 영화를 매개로 하는 인문학 강좌는 이해, 소통, 참여도에 있어서 커다란 장점이 있다. 게다가 영화의 내용과 형식은 무궁무진하므로 인문학과의 융합을 통해 다양한 주제와 문제의식을 도출할 수도 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 영화인문학 수업의 사례를 세 가지 형태로 분류하여 살펴보았다. 첫 번째, 영화 수업에 인문학적 요소를 가미하는 것이다. 이 경우 단순한 영화이론·실습교육을 넘어서, 인간과 사회를 바라보는 시각까지 키울 수 있다. 두 번째, 인문학 수업에 영화를 활용하는 경우다. 다양한 영화를 활용한다면, 쉽고 재미있는 인문학 수업이 될 수 있다. 세 번째, 영화와 인문학의 비중을 균등하게 맞추는 것이다. 이 경우, 영화에 관한 관심뿐만 아니라 영화가 의미하는 주제를 새로운 관점에서 살펴볼 수 있으며, 학습자의 만족도를 높일 수 있다. 영화인문학은 대중성과 접근성이 높고, 다양한 커리큘럼 구성이 가능하며, 여러 가지 교육 경험을 제공할 수 있다. 또한 비대면 교육이 가능하다는 장점이 있다. 그러나 영화인문학 수업 주체가 모호하다는 한계도 가지고 있다. 앞으로 이러한 단점을 보완하고 장점을 발전시킨다면, 많은 사람들에게 문화 향유의 기회를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The humanities, which appeared in the reflection of modern society, combined with films, which can be called a darling of popular culture, are creating a variety of repercussions resonating under the name of film humanities. The film reflects the reality of the time in detail and tries to communicate directly with the audience. Because of these characteristics, humanities lectures using films as a medium have great advantages in understanding, communication, and participation. Moreover, since the contents and forms of the film are endless, it is possible to derive various themes and problem awareness through fusion with the humanities. In this study, the cases of these film humanities classes were classified into three types and examined. The first is to add a humanistic element to the film class. In this case, beyond simple film theory and practical education, it is possible to develop a perspective on human beings and society. The second is the case of using films in the humanities class. If you use a variety of movies, it can be an easy and fun humanities class. Third, equalize the weight of film and humanities. In this case, not only interest in the movie, but also the topic of the movie can be looked at from a new perspective, and learner satisfaction can be increased. The humanities of film is popular and accessible, and it is possible to construct a diverse curriculum and provide various educational experiences. In addition, there is an advantage that non-face-to-face education is possible. However, it also has a limitation in that the subject of the film humanities class is ambiguous. If these shortcomings are supplemented and the strengths developed in the future, it will be possible to provide opportunities for cultural enjoyment to many people.
