창(窓)의 상징성이 적용된 도자조형 연구

국문 초록

사회와 문화는 문명에 따라 각각 다르게 발전해왔다. 이를 통해 개별적인 측면과 공통의 정체성이 나타나며, 추상적인 사상이 표현됨에 각각의 상징적 어휘가 발전되어 왔다. 특히 일상 사물에 대한 은 유적 재해석은 차별화된 상징성을 내포한다. 일상에서의 창(窓)은 건축물을 구성하는 하나의 핵심 요소이다. 채광과 환기의 기능적인 역할을 하는 동시에 조소적 역할을 하며 개폐를 통해 내, 외부를 소통시키고 차단시킨다. 또한 건축물의 실내에서 바깥 세계를 내다보는 시설물 이상의 의미를 내포한다. 동양에서는 개방 구조를 기반으로 자연과의 합 일을 통한 감정적 상호작용이 이루어지는 것이 특징이다. 서양의 경우 철학적 사상과 장식적 요소가 더해져 종교시설 내의 스테인리스를 통해 더 많은 빛을 받아들이고자 하는 신앙적 의미를 갖는다. 이는 다양한 분야의 예술작품에서도 나타난다. 르네 마그리트가 작품에서 표현하듯 창 너머로 보이 는 풍경의 재현과 대치를 통해 인간의 심리가 투영된다. 이처럼 실체적 공간과 심리적 공간을 연결하 는 상징적 의미를 갖고 공간 경험은 인간의 행동과 사고를 자극하며 행동으로 표출 시킨다. 표면상 드러나는 공간은 시각적 접촉을 통해 시선을 머무르게 한다. 창이 보여주는 실체는 투영을 통 해 심리를 반영하고, 바라보고자 하는 욕망을 자극 시킨다. 이는 예술적 소재로서의 주요한 요소이다. 본 연구를 통해 특히 무의미하게 지나칠 수 있는 창에 대한 재인식의 계기를 마련하고, 조형적 요소를 통해 시각적 활용성을 표출하였다. 또한 일상적 요소를 관념적 개념 자체로 승화하여 도자 조형의 새로 운 표현형식으로 제안하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Society and culture develope differently depending on the civilization. Through this, individual aspects and common identities appear, and symbolic vocabulary is developed as abstract ideas are expressed. In particular, the metaphorical reinterpretation of everyday objects implies a differentiated symbolism. An ordinary it’s window in everyday life is a key element of a building. It plays a functional role of natural lightings and ventilation, and an artistic role, and passes and blocks the inside and outside through opening and closing. It overlooks the outside world from the interior of the building. In the East, emotional interaction through unity with nature is characterized by an open structure. In the case of the West, philosophical ideas and decorative elements are added for religious meaning by accepting more light through. This also appears in works of art in various fields. As Renee Magritte expresses in the work, human psychology is projected through the representation and confrontation of the landscape seen through the window. In this way, the spatial experience stimulates human behavior and thinking and expresses the action with a symbolic meaning that connects the real space and the psychological space. The space exposed on the surface allows for a gaze to stay through a visual contact. The substance shown by the window reflects psychology through projection and stimulates the desire of voyeur. This is a major element as an artistic material. Through my works, I provide the an opportunity to re-recognize windows that can be overlooked meaninglessly, and visual applicability is expressed through the formative elements. In addition, I would like to propose a new expression form of ceramic sculpture by sublimating everyday elements into the conceptual concept itself.
