한지소지의 질감을 활용한 도자제품 개발 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 한지원료와 주입용 이장을 배합하여 제조된 한지소지를 도자기 제조과정에 사용함으로써, 소성과정에서 한지원료가 모두 타고 사라진 자리에 특유한 표면 질감을 갖는 도자기 개발을위해 한지소지를 이용한 도자기 제조방법을 제시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 도자제품에서 디자인의 전략 방안을 제시함으로써 도자제품 산업의 경쟁력 우위 확보에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 먼저 한지원료를 주입용 이장에 배합하여 한지소지를 준비하고, 이 한지소지를 소정의 석고 몰드 조각에 일정 두께로 붙였으며, 한지소지를 붙인 석고 몰드 조각의측면이 내측으로 향하도록 석고 몰드를 조립하였다. 이 후에 석고 몰드에 이장용 슬립을 주입하여 일정 시간 후 남은 슬립을 쏟아낸 후 일정 시간 지난 다음 탈형하여 성형 기물을 얻고, 성형 기물을 초벌구이로 한지원료를 태우고 시유하였으며, 시유한 기물을 재벌구이를하여 한지소지의 질감을 활용한 도자제품을 제조하였다. 이상과 같이 본 연구에서는 한지소지의 질감을 활용한 도자제품을 개발함으로써 소성과정에서 한지가모두 타고 사라짐에 따른 특유한 표면 질감을 갖는 도자제품을 구현할 수 있는 가능성과 한지의 기능 및도자제품의 장식성 및 실용성을 살리고 도자제품 디자인의 다양화를 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다. 또한 본 연구에서 개발한 한지소지의 질감을 활용한 도자제품은 생활도자의 가능성의 지평확대 즉 요리, 테이블 웨어 세팅, 도자 체험, 도자 콘텐츠 개발 등으로 소비 시장을 촉진하거나 집중화하여 수요 기반을 구축할 수 있는 토대를 마련하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to suggest how to make use of Korean paper body produced by mixing the materials of Korean paper and casting slips in the process of making ceramics to develop ceramics with unique surface texture in the spot where the materials of Korean paper would be burnt away in the firing process. To attain the purpose of the study, Korean paper body was prepared by mixing Korean paper materials and casting slips, and the Korean paper body was attached in a constant thickness to plaster mold pieces. The pieces were assembled into a plaster mold, and the sides of the pieces to which the Korean paper body was attached faced inwards at that time. Afterwards, casting slips were injected into the plaster mold, and the remaining slips were poured out after a certain time passed by. And then removal was done after a specific time period to obtain ware. The ware went through biscuit firing to burn the Korean paper materials and to be glazed, and the glazed ware went through second cuisson to make a ceramic product using the texture of the Korean paper body. This study can be said to be of significance in that it developed a ceramic product using the texture of the Korean paper body to show the possibility of creating a ceramic product with unique surface texture generated by burnt Korean paper, and this study also is significant in that it played up the functions of Korean paper and the ornamentality and practicality of ceramics and proposed the diversification of ceramic design. This study that developed a ceramic product using the texture of the Korean paper body is expected to pave the way for the promotion of ceramic consumption, for the centralization of the ceramic market and ultimately for the creation of demand by expanding the sphere of ceramic livingware from cooking and table setting to experience of making ceramics and the development of ceramic contents.
